I loved Redbelt. One of the best martialarts films I've ever seen... all though it should probably be called Martialarts drama.

Saw Burn After Reading today. Not what I expected at all. Strange and weird in a good way but not as entertaining or funny as I expected.

OK, my list of the Most Boring Movies Of All Times has a new No. 1 since yesterday: "Eden Log". (Yes, this one miraculously manages to beat both Leos Carax' "Pola X" and Takahashi Shimizu's "Marebito".) Don't ask me wat this movie is about. Just trust me when I say "Avoid Like Plague".
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

Saw Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Kevin Smith plus Seth Rogan = a very funny movie. Go watch it, and actually pay for it you pirating bastards.

Just watched How to lose friends and Alienate people.

It was pretty good. It could have been funnier, but overall alot better then Peggs last offering.

But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

You would say that. ;)

Is that Quantum of Solace any good tho? May go and see it but getting girlfriend to go is going to be impossible as she doesnt like the " a typical macho esq ness " of James bond. But apparantly this film isnt like that.

do tell

Hmm, well... I enjoyed it, personally, and it is more of a direct sequel than any previous Bond film. You get the impression they're trying to turn him into Bourne a bit really, and I think a lot of people were put off by the jerky camera angles and generally non-bondy storyline, but I didn't mind any of that at all.

Also, the electronic wizardry they had going on at MI6 was beautifully awesome ;)

Quantum of Solace had large quantities of action, which was awesome, but the villain's masterplan was ridiculously underambitious...no, we're not going to use a satellite to destroy the weapons of world powers and precipitate a war, we're going to
Spoiler
I felt like the filmmakers were trying to be a bit too clever - twice they used the device of having a high tension scene interposed with some kind of large cultural event...it was stylish the first time, the second time it was just tacky.

There also didn't seem to be all that many of the standard Bond one-liners, and those there were weren't particularly funny. There was one line I laughed at (as did everyone else in the cinema), but otherwise remarkably non-Bond-y. I agree with Brood that they were trying to give it more of a Bourne flavour - sometimes it worked, and other times it didn't.

Other things that annoyed me: the things that filled up the screen telling you where you were felt rather gaudy and unnecessary, and the contact lenses they made Daniel Craig wear were ridiculously over-the-top blue. Oh, and what's with them turning fall damage off?

And finaly, most of all,

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

I thought Quantum of Solace was pretty good, not great, but watchable. Not enough nooky for my likings though. I wanted to at least see her tits.

The master plan was also a bit shit. And by a bit, I mean a LOT. Im fairly sure that the cost of engineering the coup would have been not much less than the profits. There were also a few bits where I thought "WTF? what's going on, why would that happen?"

But, better than anything with Timothy Dalton and on a par with Casino Royale, which was brought down by it's draaaaaaaaaawn out ending.

I saw two movies over the last week:

Zack and Miri Make a Porno - Hilarious and sweet if you don't mind a little raunchy/ toilet humor. OK - a LOT of raunchy/ toilet humor. The potty-mouthedness is a bit over the top too. I really dug the "covered in shit" joke and the cameo by

.

Madagascar 2 - Didn't work for me... its like a string of gags, with no soul. The penguins and monkeys are funny though, and Sasha Baron Cohen is awesome in what little screentime his lemur gets. Don't bother going to the theater... catch this one on DVD if you liked the first. (I didn't, but went anyway)

I saw Max Payne last night, because there was nothing else on worth watching.

It was ok, I guess, but nothing amazing. Don't know how well it was tied to the game either, but the thign that annoyed me most was the constant almost-endings, that kept being prematurely cut short. Even the actual ending was a bit meh also. Not a bad action flick, but hardly ground-breaking, though some of the effects were cool, and Wahlberg was suprisingly good.

Dunno, heard of the books, my ex/now close mate wanted me to read them, as did a few of my other female friends, sounded like a load of tosh tbh... Thank God people in the military don't like that shizz

I really want to see Twilight. I read they were written by a Mormon and are an allegory for saving your "virtue" for marriage. I also read that teenage girls are obsessed with them. The part of me that will forever be a teenage girl insists that we go! That is the same part of me that likes watching Dirty Dancing and reading Pride and Prejudice. I've tried to kill her off but she keeps coming back!

Saw three movies.

hancock: Not bad, entertaining enough, well worth the dollar it cost to see it.

Stepbrothers: Ridiculous, silly, but fun. I laughed more than I have at some of Will Ferrell's other recent movies. Judd Apatow = funny, always.

Hellboy 2: Good stuff
