Why?

Thats a good question. Pitch Black is always a favorite movie of mine to watch.

Overall I just think he's a cool actor. He doesn't always bring the believable acting, but I think he brings a good atmosphere on screen with him.

I'm sort of saddened the way Vin Diesel carreer has gone. He's made XxX, Riddick, and too fast too furious, etc. He looked like a prime candidate for a action star of the new millenium in the venue of Sly and Arnold... now he just makes disney movies (generalising)

Same thing with the Rock. Allthough he takes all kinds of strange funny roles and he's very good at it.

The Rock gave his career the People's Elbow when he "starred" in Doom.

Vin Diesel was trying to become more "well rounded"....:D

I liked The Fast and the Furious, really enjoyed it. It was the sequels that killed it. But was he in them?

Rock made Doom passably cool.

Was I the only one who thought Rock was right when he ordered the extermination of all the civilians? It wasn't a problem untill handicapped guy chickened out and let the demons onto earth. Faced with the threat of the demons invading the homeworld, extreme measures were expected.

I certainly wasn't going to take the word of a scientist who caused the problem and was talking perhaps'es and maybe's.

That movie was awful.....nothing good...and it could've been sweet had they done it right and not cheesed it up. :D

Indeed, Doom is about LEGIONS OF DEMONS invading mars. If they had given us that, think Event Horizon vs Aliens, then we'd been talking legendary movie. Not that bubblegum generic action crap.

The first person shooter scene by the end was the last nail in the casket for me.

LOL, that was terrible.

Doom could be so....terrifying if they wanted it to be. Instead of focusing just on special effects, the creepy "When is that fucking Imp going to jump at me from the dark?" feeling should've been played up more.

if were talking about the Rock then

The Rundown (awesome x 10)

Walking Tall (good)

Scorpian King (good for what it was, cliche action movie)

Be cool (proved he could do different rolls, very good movie)

Southland Tales (wierd)

Doom (worse movie so far...but he played the bad guy which was a nice twist)

Gridiron Gang - actually really good

I didnt watch his other foot ball movie...

so all in all the Rock has had a more then impressive list of good movies...Ill watch probably anything he comes out with

The Rock actually did acting in university I think which is why he can pull of half-decent acting skills at least.

Another notable was Rumble in the Jungle. Passable popcorn action flick.

Just got back from watching Doomsday. Hilarious, for all the wrong reasons. Like they tried to amalgamate Mad Max with some medieval action flick, whilst on a coke trip. For about 15 minutes the jokes about Scotland being like that anyway kept me amused, but seriously, this film is just awful. Horrible, over the top camp outfits, and gaping plotholes. Wish I could have my fiver back.

I saw Doom on DVD, which someone else owned, so I personally paid no money to watch it in anyway. I'm glad I saw it, cos it was just a good laugh. I wouldn't have paid to see it though.

@Rich the Great - I saw the trailer to Doomsday and thought "It's a chick driving a Bentley Continental GT (I think) and lots of things blow up. How can this be anything but win??" :D

Saw Iron Man. Loved it. The bit where the guy tries to cap Iron Man and instead caps himself on the ricochet was worth the price of admission alone.

Saw Speed Racer. It wasn't great, but I don't think it deserved quite the panning it got from critics. Maybe I'm biased because I loved the series as a kid.

I haven't seen McLovin since back when I was first posting.....hoorays!

LOL@Rich the Great....that movie was good in the sense that the trailers showed close ups of that chick's ass in that weird leather outfit :p

Besides that, it looked like turd.

Shame about Doomsday, I thought it looked funny for all the right reasons. Ah well, more time to revise;)

Watched Juno over the weekend.

I liked the movie, thought it had some funny parts that kinda snuck up on you. I also thought it avoided some of the cliches that this type of movie would normally fall into.

All in all an enjoyable movie, but I have to say way overhyped. I've seen a lot on how great the movie was and, while I did enjoy and may end up buying the DVD, I wouldn't say its the greatest movie ever.

So, if your ok with watching a simple movie about a 16 year who is pregnant its a nice sweet movie.

As a side note; am I the only one that finds the lead character Juno extremly attractive?

Also saw Sweeney Todd this weekend. Absolutly loved it. Dark musical in which Jonny Depp, IMO, did a hell of an acting job. Very enjoyable flick and if you can get past it being a musical then I would say go watch it.
