Ryan Reynolds doing a movie that is a comedic riff on Ready Play One. Revealed at the E3 stuff that is happening right now. Title is Free Guy. Looks silly (and probably not all that good).

He'll bounce high if it is a disaster. I think he added another comma when he sold his gin and when he started up that Cricket for Canadians wireless service.

Calling all Vault Hunters! Calling all Vault Hunters!

On snap guys! The E3 Gearbox event kicked off with movie info about Borderlands movie. Randy Pitchford confirmed Caustic Caverns and Eli Roth had an infinity pistol. Oh whoa snap! Man I melted some fools with that legendary.

In the Heights -- Quite good! I've never seen the stage version, but I understand a few highly esteemed songs were cut, and one of the major story lines was whittled down or changed quite a bit. And even without having seen the original or knowing anything ahead of time, I could tell Nina's arc is truncated in comparison to the others'. That aside though, it's an effervescent and engaging movie.

Plan B -- Road trip comedy about a couple teens trying to find the morning after pill in South Dakota. Like Unpregnant with a higher % of (the first) Harold & Kumar in its DNA, in that the shenanigans and roadblocks are wilder and more raunchy. In terms of plot beats/predictability, it doesn't veer far at all from most of this subgenre where two friends have a very eventful 24-48 hours, like Superbad, Booksmart, Banana Split, etc. But overall I liked it. The two leads have a lot of chemistry, and the requisite laughs, raunch, tension, and heart are all there and nicely executed. If you liked any or all of the movies I name-checked, give it a shot?

Watched the recent Tomb Raider movie. I think it came out in 2018?

It wasn't good. The puzzle scenes are all I can really compliment it on. I guess they were attempting to do the games justice in that regard? The rest is completely forgettable and full of a lot of inanity.

MATRIX RESURRECTIONS (Yep, that's the official title) did a test screening, and one invitee said:

THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS screened this afternoon and it is: weird, meta, engrossing, surprisingly funny, and ambitious to a fault. I expect WOM to be wildly mixed but the people who love it will *love* it.

Which is EXACTLY what I'd assume someone would say about Lana's post SENSE8 work, and I expect to FULLY be in the "love it" category for this film.

Now give us a trailer!

Rumor has it that in this one you can combine the red pill and the blue pill, to make a purple pill. Which will summon Barney the Dinosaur.

All worth it for one brief scene ...

I'm not saying i jumped up and cheered, but i may have picked that moment to abruptly stand up in my seat, stretch, and inadvertently yell because i thought i saw a mosquito.

I wouldn't call that production old fashined. Looks like a Tarantino movie mixed with The Young Guns maybe with a bit of Guy Ritchie sprinkled on top.

Idris Elba really is a charming bastard.

How many spaghetti westerns have you watched? By old fashioned western romp I mean largely clean outfits even though they are in the dusty west, ect., train robberies, black and white striped prison outfits...

Putting Regina King in your movie is always a wise decision.

New Foundation Movie trailer (Based on Isac Assimov's book series):

Hard to get any real grasp on the movies plot from the trailer but interesting to see the adaption. It looks very spectacular, yet when I recall the books I think of something very pulpy. Like the Jetsons or Flash Gordon.

Watched Cruella with the fam over the weekend. I enjoyed the heck out of it. Even when it was bad or over the top, it was still enjoyable.

And the soundtrack was perfect.

Anyone see F9 yet? Is it 9x Faster and 9x Furiouser?

Which got me wondering, do you think there will ever be a cross over with Mad Max called "Fast and Furiosa"? CT is in both franchises so they could make it happen, right?
