I do not understand why you would post such a picture.

I don't find her the least bit attractive. For a time in Devils Advocate I did.

Have you seen 2 Days in the Valley? She has a knock down drag out catfight with Terri Hatcher in a hotel room. Wearing a skin tight white body suit. The rest of the movie is good as well. Lot of well known people in it. James Spader, Jeff Daniels, Danny Aiello, Eric Stoltz...

So you can’t enjoy a movie with a female lead if you’re not attracted to her?

Saw two excellent movies this weekend: 1) Eighth Grade -- just an exceptionally compelling, empathetic 'teen' movie about the last week of eighth grade for a kinda wallflowery girl who's making an effort to put herself out there. It's Bo Burnham's writing/directing feature debut, and it's so far from his early edge-lordy comedy stuff it's incredible. It's kinda refreshing to see someone actually grow out of that phase instead of digging in deeper and deeper, know what I mean? Anyway that's more about Burnham than the movie, which is funny, awkward, honest, and sweet in all the right ways.2) Hereditary -- I guess the less said about this the better, since for all its throwback horror focus on mood and tension over jump scares, it also has some original, seared-into-the-brain-forever shocking moments. This one's right up there with The Babadook and The VVitch, maybe tops them for me.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Stopped watching Lonesome Dove on part 4. My heart can never take what happens so I usually never actually finish on the dozens of times I've rewatched this.

By god Woodrow, its been one hell of a party.

Yah Logan rules.

I watched Atomic Blonde. I get why amph likes it so much. I thought it was gonna be John Wick-lite, but while JW is all about the virtuosity, AB kinda takes that energy and makes it a bit more messy. It definitely borrows plenty from JW, given the director, it's just a lot more rough and tumble. So while JW feels excellent but implausible, AB hovers at the extremes of plausibility (maybe sometimes crossing the line). I appreciated both that people got exhausted, and also that Theron's size, strength, and stature are all genuinely a factor in the fight choreography.

All that said, I didn't really like any of the spy stuff. I'm not even sure I followed it from A to Z. And it's like 75% of the movie. So it's not on my top 5 action flicks of the last 15 years list.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Not bad at all. Held my interest. I may need to read the SOUTHERN REACH books.

Read the first book. Ignore the other two.

Now that you've watched the film you've basically ingested the cliff notes version of book 1 and part of 3 - Only with more action and a better ending.

Watched Ant Man and the Wasp last night. Very much enjoyed it, much in the way I found Ant Man to be such a pleasant surprise, knowing nothing about the character going in. It was quite funny in good ways (Paul Rudd seems to be perfect for this role) and I actually laughed out loud multiple times. They didn't try too hard to mimic the comedy of the first one either, almost all of it was pretty natural again. And more Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp is a big plus. She is badass! And Luis' storytelling, with the camera showing the conversations but the characters mimicking the lines he is speaking, at his speed, is just hilarious!

It seems the timeline is pretty much parallel to Infinity War based on the first of the credit scenes. And that scene answered a question I had about Infinity War that my daughter had refused to answer for me, since she had gone to see Ant Man and the Wasp in the theater and her parents never made it.

Of all your terrible opinions this is easily in the top 3. There is no way. No way. That anyone could think that the movie ending is better than the book ending.

If you read the books I think that is very probable for you to think so. I wont post spoilers here but come on, the lightkeeper was just weird and nonsensical and the ending gave me blue balls.

The two people I know who've seen it both say it's legitimately good.

Apt, you need a time out in the Quiet Room. There you can sit and think about what you've been saying.

I liked the movie ending quite a bit, but also I think the first book in the Southern Trilogy is the 'worst' of the three (relatively speaking, cuz they're all good), and the series finale is awesome.

I saw A Star Is Born. It's sooooo good. I hate Bradley Cooper. In the sense that he's so perfect and I love him so desperately that I have to turn it to hatred just to cope. And I have invented a narrative in my head where his every career move is calculated by desperation for an Oscar. Well he's another step closer. Lady Gaga is a really good actor too. A little clunky in moments but she's well worth the punt. The only negative I have of the film is that the "baddie" is cookie cutter.

I think what I've seen people say is that objectively it is a very bad movie, but that it's also a ton of fun.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

I just caught the first 30mins of Fast and Furious 7 on a +1 channel and realised it was Paul Walkers last one. I've been wondering how they wrote him out since he died but the film was on too late. So I hopped to the last 30mins on the regular channel. So that's that question answered.

I finally got around to seeing Solo.

I enjoyed it. But. He may he called Han Solo. He may wear the same clothes has Han Solo. He may hang out with a Wookie and is arguably the best pilot in the Galaxy. And he shoots first. But he ain't Han Solo.
