Godzilla 2 trailer just dropped.. my boy will go nuts for this in the morning.

Like I am now!

Man this looks beautiful. Of course the first one had a great trailer too and ended up a middling movie (though it did get the monster right!), and then the exact same thing happened with Skull Island, but I choose to have hope anyway.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Hmmm ... possible cautious optimism for Shazam and Aquaman.

Also not sure what to make of Godzilla 2. Looks pretty though.

Mothra looks awesome... Rodan emerging from a volcano... and goddamn King Ghidorah!

I've been following the teasers and 'Monarch' files they've been releasing, but I still squealed a bit.

I just love these movies. Godzilla and Skull Island are on quite a lot in my house, along with Shin Godzilla (which is a decent return to the original '54 version, with an added ghastly look and some truly devastating firepower) so this trailer hits all the right notes for me. (Also, an interview I read a while back from someone that had watched the battle between Godzilla and Ghidora said it was seriously impressive - hopefully hinting at some decent fights and screen time for the monsters, as opposed to the backdrop they formed in G 2014.)

I already want the 'Art of..' book.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Watched The Fate of the Furious

Yucky, what a contrived pos. I mean I get the whole idea about these movies is to just shove popcorn in your face, drink a sugary drink and give your brain a vacation. But damn, each one gets dumber and dumber. Charlize Theron was horrible in this. Vin Diesel gets suckier and suckier. Michelle Rodriguez can't act her way out of a wet paper bag. And can they please kill off Tyrese Gibson's character? The comic relief the character is supposed to provide is cringe worthy. The best part about the movie was Jason Statham saving the baby, and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. I think to breathe new life into this franchise (if they want to keep it going) is to move forward with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson taking the reins and slowly x-out Vin Diesel from it (maybe have his character die in like two movies down the road).

I give The Fate of the Furious 1 1/2 awkwardly delivered Vin Diesel lines out of 5.

Sidebar.

The Antarctic base where Ghidorah is being housed in the trailer, is Outpost 31.

The Antarctic Base in John Carpenter's THE THING, is Outpost 31.

This is (according to the filmmaker) NOT a mistake or a coincidence, but is intentional.

I am SO fucking AMPED for that movie.

Finally watched THE SHAPE OF WATER.

Good gods what a terrible movie. Like easily the worst Del Toro movie I've ever seen...yes, worse than Crimson Peak.

It's like Del Toro is attempting to ape Jean Pierre Jeunet (it's very Amelié meets Abe Sapien)...and then descending into...

Spoiler

Thanks for that little detail! I know I'm usually the first to feel a bit let down when a gorgeous trailer doesn't get matched in terms of the score or quality in the actual movie, but I really, love this trailer.

There's some interesting info on each of the 'titans' released by Monarch on the Godzilla 2 site. I just hope the main story thread about releasing the monsters makes sense, and the people involved do so for the right reason.

Ghidorah will be the show stopper, that blast of yellow fire/lightning through the walls in the trailer was him... I wonder how they'll translate his weird noises though?

I really like Gareth Edwards movies, but this is going to make his Godzilla look more like an intro... which is probably while I cut it a bit of slack at the time, as that's basically what I was expecting from it.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Ah, Worry beat me to it. Thus begins the age old question. Does a movie about a TV show belong in the movie or TV thread?

New Venom trailer. I mean, I'm gonna watch it. Not in theaters mind you, but I'll probably catch it when it comes to paid cable.

Bought and watched my digital early copy of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. Still excellent!

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT....not only a fantastic entry in the MI franchise (I like them all tho), but just an ante-upping action movie all around. LOVED it.

Yeah, I haven't read the source material either. Good thing they gave us the entire plot in the trailer.

Ditto on both counts.

I had thought Hugo Weaving was over CGI crapfests? Maybe he was doing some renovations at home?
