I watched PotC: Deadmen Tell No Tales 2 nights ago. It was OK. I would have thought Will and the Dutchman would have shown up to ensure Salazar and his crew went on to the afterlife. I liked that Henry and Carina were Jack's sidekicks through out the story. I wanted more Jack epicness and less making it up as he goes along.

Last night I watched Chappie. Another solid Blomkamp movie.

A new trailer for Annihilation has come out and no one has posted it yet? I'm a little disappointed in you guys.

https://www.youtube....ry=Annihilation

Also, during the Super Bowl, rumor has it that there is going to be a butt load of trailers (new premiers and latest trailers). I'll be doubly disappointed when I check in with the forum tomorrow morning and there isn't at least one posted. So get on it movie freaks!

That sucks. I was hoping it was both. QT turned my opinion 180.

Lmao!

Hey QT. That Dundee thing was just a commercial stunt and not a actual movie.

Paul Hogan was in it!

It was for an Australian tour advertisement lol. That was good though.

Yeah, it sucks that it wasn't a new movie.

It WAS a good advertisement though, for sure.

I'm still curious how they elaborately had Entertainment Weekly interview them all about it like it WAS a movie...that's the extra mile for an advertisement. That was the main reason I bought fully into it....was because who does print interviews about a forthcoming movie only to have it be a commercial?

You know EW is more marketing machine, less actual entertainment news, yes?

I mean....I've just never seen such a dedicated print interview to fleece people into believing a lie about an piece of advertising. Seems over the top.

Paul Hogan is looking crispy AF. He looks like the love child spawned from a threesome between a hunk of beef jerky, a raisin and snake skin that was shed a month ago.

Look up thread too. I told you guys it was an elaborate advert. Even told ya'll to google it. Listen to Uncle Kazooie, kay? You'll save yourself some time and heart break.

So, you guys do plan to have Venom at some point in your Venom movie, right?

Sony: Fucking things up since 1998.

I'm pretty much done with the Superhero genre. Just not that interesting any more. Notable exceptions of course (Deadpool, Logan... And no doubt I'll be watching Infinity War when it comes out)

Just in case you were wondering how to find out what happens in the latest Fifty Shades of Shit movie, but had too much self-respect to actually, you know, pay for and watch it - here is a gleefully totally spoilerific review that saves you the trouble and $$$.

I strongly suspect the review is far more entertaining than the movie.

And of course The Onion has a review:

Saw The Greatest Showman and I'm unashamedly gleefully in love with it. Such a superb, joyous celebration of humanity and such beautiful songs and Hugh Jackman is the best, totally my man crush. Have been blasting the soundtrack ever since.

Watched The Legend of Tarzan. Not much to say except what a stinker of a movie. The movie is disjointed and hops around all over the place. And woof, the CGI is pretty bad. And I like Christoph Waltz and have enjoyed most of what I've seen him in, but is it just me or does he have a very narrow range when it comes to acting. I mean, I dunno, it just seems that his characters are all the same person.

Anyway, I give The Legend of Tarzan 2 1/2 awkward Samuel L. Jackson piggy-back rides out of 5.

BAYWATCH 2017 was not bad at all. In fact I'm not sure what everyone was complaining about when it came out. Sure it's overly predictable, and sometimes too goofy...but I mean I got what I expected an update to a LUDICROUS premise (Lifeguards solving crimes, and stopping bombs and serial killers and shit) and they even lean into that ridiculousness by having everyone who is not on the Baywatch team tell the Baywatch team "You're not cops, stop doing this". It's damned amusing. It was an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours, and I'd be happy to see a second one.

My ONLY issue is that they didn't play the Baywatch theme (except for the brief moment when Hasselhoff cameos)...and I thought it would have come at the end credits.

Otherwise, fun stuff.

You give a 2.5 out of 5 to stinkers?

meh, 2.5 falls into the "Stinker" category. 0 to 1 is reserved for films that have no redeeming value. I guess those can be categorized as a complete failure as movie. It wasn't a complete failure, it just wasn't that good. A stinker, if you will.

[EDIT] I was probably being generous with the extra ".5", maybe didn't want to totally offend someone who liked it.

EDIT: ...okay, call it an even ten more times...
