I dunno QT, the first Young Guns was just awesome, and one hell of a cast. I can see them just ruining it.

@cause this makes me happy that I caught something like that, normal I miss those little Easter eggs

Totally possible for sure. I'm more curious than anything else.

Yah, I don't actually want it to happen but I am simultaneously curious who they would cast. Obviously Miles Teller and Ansel Elgort but who else?!

Girls Trip -- Now I knew going in this was gonna be formulaic up the yin-yang, but that it looked hilarious anyway (the trailers were like night and day between this and Rough Night, in terms of hilarity). And both things turned out to be true. There aren't really any plot surprises along the way, but the chemistry is unreal good and the jokes keep on coming. With this and Keanu, Tiffany Haddish should be on her way to stardom. Everyone else is solid too, including Jada Smith (last thing I saw her in was S1 of Gotham, so I thought she'd lost it). Even during the formula stuff, though, the writing is actually pretty sharp -- at least in terms of the friendship being real and their interactions being fairly grounded. The gags can get outlandish, but they generally turn out to be really funny rather than annoying. I'd give it like a B+.

Also, Larenz Tate still looks like he's 20 years old and I have no idea why he's not an A-lister. (Jk, I know why, and it sucks, cuz he's got movie star looks and skills).

Rough Night was very poor.
Girls night looked watchable from the trailer, might get watching it at some stage

It appears The Dark Universe is dying a premature death: http://www.hollywood...erverse-1055854

I guess they forgot the number one rule of building an audience: make the movies watchable.

Oh my god, how good is the new Thor movie? Loved every second of it. I may have Immigrant Song stuck in my head for days. Jeff Goldblum and his planet were brilliant. I even loved the credits.

Saw OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY...which was about what I expected. Had a few funny moments, and overall was decent...but not exactly a hilarious comedy.

Also, I can't buy Jennifer Aniston as a mean person...so scenes where she basically tells off a kid in the first class lounge come off as really strange, or treats everyone like she's the Grinch are odd.

Kate McKinnon was of course brilliant, as was Jason Batman.

I don't like TJ Miller because I heard he was a dick in real life. He needs to grow the fuck up.

Turns out I brought a lot of baggage into this flick. LOL

War for the Planet of the Apes: Awesome ending to one of the best series in recent history. It was alternately grim and hopeful in line with the rest of the series. I wouldn't call it the best of the trilogy, and it had flaws, but it mostly worked.

Spoiler

Spider-Man Homecoming: This was sweet. Very charming, and Tom Holland confirms that he's the right man for the job. The best Peter Parker AND the best Spider-Man. Giving him 'Karen' does wonders for the gab aspect of Spidey, like making what can be dialogue or inner monologue in the comics into screen dialogue w/o any awkwardness.

Assassin's Creed

Not horrible, but also not great. Just kind of "meh".

Much like the video game franchise, the parts that are in the present (at Abstergo) are not all that great. And they were confusing as well. I did not understand the "voluntary regression" concept when explaining the room full of "damaged" participants at Abstergo. Also didn't get the end action when the dna memories of Fassbender's assassin sort of bleed into the present and the other assassin's (imprisoned?) at Abstergo were rallied to action. How the hell did Michael K. Williams' character all of a sudden have smoke bombs to launch the attack?

The parts with Fassbender's assassin in 1490s Spain were actually pretty cool. The action sequence about 45min in will put a smile on any fan of the game franchise's face. They did a pretty nice job of capturing all the assassin building climbing and parkour that is a signature of the games. They also paid homage to the leap into a cart of hay (but with a twist Posted Image)

Interesting take on the Animus.

Also, did the plot of the film spoil where they eventually are going with the game franchise?

I give it 2.5 shoves into a cart of hay out of 5

Still havent watched it. Thank you for the confirmation.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty much over superhero movies and tv shows fucking everywhere. Especially since 95% of it is garbage.

Are you Apt in disguise?

I just felt it was awful from start to finish, even things I don't normally notice / care about bugged the shit out of me. The camera work, it was trying too hard or something, a lot of shots that didn't work, looked out of place or broke up whatever lite flow the film had managed to gather.

The story, lex luther, affleck, ugh the list goes on.
To say WW saves the movie is laughable, she is a footnote.
