I'm pretty sure you are outgunned there, Apt. This forum actually reflects fairly broadly held tastes.

OK, I watch Lady in the Water. As many of you may remember, I'm one of the biggest M. Night Shamalamamamaman apologists out there. I even liked The Happening. But dear God, this was a dumb movie. Just bad on so many levels. Giamatti was the only thing this moviie had going for it. M. NIght;s worst movie.

Ocens twelve was so bad that even now, so many years later I become angry when thinking about it. It's up there among Spiderman 3 and Terminator 3 it the category of the shittiest of shitty manuscripts.

They have this really poor attack plan that gets them caught, then the B team does a really crappy attempt at rescuing them and wind up arrested as well, only Matt Damons legendary super criminally clever parents save their asses. Then there's this weird final scene where Clooney reveals it was all a ploy to trick the sleazy frenchman. You see, they meant to get caught by the police and registered by Interpol, it was all a part of their plan.

What. Utter. Bullshit.

The third one was okay, but only really seemed that way because 12 was so bad.

Im not going through this entire thread right now, but has anyone else seen 'Let the Right One In?'

Swedish film about a wierd hermaphrodite/androgenous? vampire girl who makes friends with a schoolboy.

Very atmospheric and underplayed, loved the ending!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Amazing movie and creepy as shit. Not really looking forward to the US version in the fall however.

Its been showing at a little cinema around the corner for a while now. Love the cinema as you can drink beer in it :p

Ocean's 11, 12 and 13 are something of a cosmic anomaly. They managed to put a truckload of big names and great actors into these films, and they're still pretty shitty. All three of them. They did an amazing job at wasting time and money.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. Watched LADY VENGEANCE on the weekend, great movie... very different tone to OLDBOY but i gather its because there is a female protagonist.
Now i just got to watch SYMPATHY FOR MR VENGEANCE and id have seen the entire revenge trilogy!

Anybody seen it?

It's implied but never actually stated or explained. The scene where she's shown to have a what appears to be a scar leading to assumptions she's be sown up, ect. The book I believe goes into much more detail concering her backstory as well as establishing that she is 'androgenous' and several hundred years old. Just as the issue of pedophilia is largely left vague in the movie and made much more implicit in the book. Also interestingly enough, the girl playing the role had her voice dubbed with someone older and considered less 'feminine'.

Regardless of what it says in the book she's not androgynous in the film I don't think - amazing flick though.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and agree with Apt on the Ocean's franchise:
11 - Very good
12 - utter, utter crap. As in considered suicide by donating brainz to Abyss type crap. Decided against it because I thought my extra polluted thinkymeatz might give him the runs.
This is as opposed to my normal level of polluted thimkymeatz. :p
13 - good, but it's mostly because you were so appalled by 12

And I have seen Ben Hur maybe 5-6 times. Awesome film, even these days. :p

Which begs the question: Who is the modern equivalent of Charlton Heston at the top of his form?
