Need a decent film this week to take the gf to see. Alic in Wonderland has crap reviews from ppl ive met so i might give tht a miss. Duno what to se really. Ideas?

Alice in Wonderland not only has crap reviews, it also edited out my appearance as an extra. There is now no possible reason why you'd want to see it.

Saw Green Zone today and really enjoyed it. Disturbingly I found the whole premise of the movie totally believable. As it was based on a book written by a "contractor" who was in Iraq at the time, the reality of regular troops dying in the streets whilst "private contractors" lived it up by the pool at Saddam's palace was a poignant scene. Damon played a more sensitive and emotional version of Bourne (which was what was needed) and Greg Kinnear's character was suitably twatish.

It looked perdy and the action scenes were realistic enough without going too over the top. My one quibble is with Greengrass' love of handheld camera shots and "fast panning" (a la 24). Now and again is ok but too much just makes my eyes hurt, there were a couple of times where I couldn't look at the screen because I couldn't focus on anything. Meh it's a small point about an otherwise excellent action/drama. 8 / 10
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

yeah "bounty hunter" is a shitty movie also, girlfriend dragged me to see it. god, my brain still hurts. why do action stars always do chick flics, geh.

Cloudy with a chance of cheese and donuts or something equally foolish.
Woeful animated film (watched it on he boat home from Scotland), I know its for kids, and the idea is silly enough to provide possibly amusing scenes, but the characters, excepting the father and reporter, are just far too over the top and annoying to be remotely entertaining.
Dogshit, bring back Finding Nemo quality for my animated films please.

Invention of Lying, watched it on the boat to Scotland
Meh, again a film where the premise was good, potential for a lot of laughs but it falls flat, by diving straight into the gutter with its tone. What happened to reasonably intelligent scripting? Are audiences that retarded nowadays that they need everything spelled out in black and white. Now I'm not saying the Carry on films were genious, but in their way they were terribly smutty whilst rather saying anything more than a vieled reference and coupling it with Sid James' epic laugh. Bring that shit back, we can get a masturbastion joke without the main characters saying masturbation 10 times within a minute, thank you very much.
Bleh, Gervais' character annoyed me, Garners was irritating also, htought hawtness gets her a let off.
5/10, wait for television, don't waste money on renting.


I love you Philip Morris. watched it in the cinema.
And endured a few painfully awkward moments in what was an otherwise enjoyable comedy/ true story (not bothered to research how close it is to the real tale.
Several massive belly laughs, a few from shock comedy, a few from visual and about 2 minutes of pissing myself at an angry inmate screaming his word is his motherfucking bond.
Ewan McGregor was the star of the show for me, played his character to perfection. Carey's smile was alittle too much for what a more serious comedy than what we see him usually take on.

REPO MEN.


Fucking amazing. It got absolutely destroyed by the critics, but this movie basically had everything I look for in a good movie: an intriguing/thought-provoking premise (to chew on while the plot builds up), some pretty funny parts, and incredibly badass & gory action scenes.

E.g., one of the last fight scenes:

Protagonist (Jude Law, dunno his character's name haha) comes up against like 10 other repo men (people who stun & carve out organs from people whose payments are overdue). Whips out two long knives. Cue epic music.

Badassery commences.

Not a deep movie by any means, but it was well worth the money imo.

Watched THE WICKER MAN directors cut last night.

Nick Cage kicks ass again...no really literally kicks woman's asses, must watch movie for that alone.
Never mind the bee scene.

Anyways, watched The Hurt Locker yesterday. An incredibly tense, and I'd say rather important film that I'll surely remember for a long time. Yet, I never really enjoyed it, if that makes sense.

Watched Up today. Pretty good film, but I don't think it's 'the best Pixar film ever produced' like some people I've heard say.

Ok, so... Rear Window... the great mystery in that film was: why was the guy even remotely interested in the murder instead of the prospect of banging Grace Kelly? :>
Nah, a very interesting film really :lol: Bit better imo than Vertigo.

Finding Nemo, hands down.

Toy stroy is pretty good as well though.

I didn't really find much to shout about at any of their last 4/5 offerings, incredibles was ok but ratawhatever, cars, wall-e and Up were "meh" in my mind (I do hate to use the word meh, but its a simple summary of my feelings on those feelings)

I think the thing with Up is that the first 10 minutes are just so brilliantly done. It is my favorite movie opening in a long, long time. The score was very well done as well.

Watched Shutter Island this weekend. Knew the ending and still thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a bit long, but I'd still give it 3 and 1/2 crispy slices of bacon out of 4. (I ate the other half).

You're all going to hate me for this but I couldn't stand Finding Nemo... I thought it was the least funny and entertaining ixar movies. Monsters Inc would probably have to be my favourite.
