Watched (Han) Solo: A Star Wars story yesterday.

I thought it was surprisingly good. It got such a bad or luke warm reception at its release, that I didn't give it a second thought. But it's a perfectly fine action heist movie.

I especially thought the relationship between Han and Chewbacca worked great. I think what I liked the most was that the film is mostly detached from the rest of the Star Wars universe. It stands alone, no jedis, no death stars, no major cameos, etc.

I liked it a lot too, and for the same reasons.

One could pretty much say that as a movie it is quite solo?

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I watched Office Space yesterday for the first time. I'd seen so many references and memes from that film without even realizing it.

The actual plot of the movie was bad but the characters and the setting itself was phenomenal. Best use of gangster rap in the most White dude movie I've ever experienced.

I enjoyed it but I love Harrison Ford Han Solo so much that I didn't want to know his origins. Nothing could live up to the fantasy. It's better if I can imagine he just emerged from space in his scruffy looking waistcoat, always has and always will be the coolest cat in the galaxy.

Got two tickets to go see Batman at the IMAX on Monday.

I'd not put much hope in this "reboot" or what ever you want to call it but those reviews have put my skepticism to shame.

Getting hyped!

I heard that it's both grounded in reality like the Nolan films, but also has a deep Noir-soaked graphic novel feel that makes it really honour the comic work. I cannot wait to see it.

I think my main issue with Solo is that making it about Han Solo worked to its detriment. It would have been a much better film if it was just a heist movie in the Star Wars universe.

I can agree with that, like Mezla mentioned above I don't need to know Solo's origins, or Boba Fetts. The great thing about the past is that it lets the viewer speculate. The fans head canon is always better than what they get.

Trying to buy tickets for an afternoon screening of THE BATMAN, but the Cineplex site ticketing system is down. Fecking hell. I have a free afternoon and I can't do something fun?

Got tickets to see THE BATMAN this aft!

Supposedly if you go to a showing wearing very pronounced black eyeliner and a My Chemical Romance t-shirt you get a discount on snacks... with a catch though - Raisinets and Good & Plenty only.

Well that was easily the best Batman movie I’ve ever seen.

I've been reading it's too long (>3hrs). So much so that a majority of these early viewers didn't even realize there is a end credits scene because they had enough and didn't have the patience to stay as the credits rolled.

It straddles the line between the sort of realism that Nolan did, but it’s also Drenched in comicky Batman noir. And Pattinson is stunningly great.

Pattinsons Bats does this inexorable slow walk out of the darkness a few times that is utter PERFECTION.

Watched The Batman. Loved it. Really good manuscript and great direction.

I think it tries to lean a bit too much into realism and I think Batman spends a bit too much time being led by the nose, rather than doing detective work and predicting The Riddler's moves.

But it is a really good story. Hope they make more. Hope they pick another unexplored Batman villain.
