There is something that has been tickling my subconscious about this whole episode since the beginning, and it only just materialised.

Yeah I'm an orthotist/prosthetist, but there is some podiatric medicine involved. Trust me the irony of the situation has not been lost on me! My co-workers certainly found it amusing and were teasing me about it the minute they found out! I may help other people with things like gait and balance, but I have always been a clutz!

I also happen to be a terrible patient! I keep looking for ways around the doctors orders or making suggestions about the casts and my recovery. I've also been using it to my advantage as far as arguing for going back to work earlier, it's driving them nuts. I've realized that I'm the type of patient I bitch about on a daily basis!

Holy shit that was amazing! I'd need about three years to be able to do something like that. Afterall it took me two days just to figure out how to do the stairs properly!

No I haven't recovered, the leg is still broken. There has been plenty of love in this thread frookie, but you can only talk about a broken leg for so long. Alot of people have been PMing me to see how I'm doing so it's all good. I was going to post in here again when I had my first cast change or there was some major development.
