I think we will have stay a little more on top of thread titles from now on.

There will be no way to avoid spoilers in thread titles unless we make them so undescriptive we have no idea what they are really about in the first place. Perhaps instead of individual thread titles we place individual fora names?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

All the pictures of Erikson I've seen on this site show him to be a little less skinny than that author pic up there. I think it got compressed a bit.
Minor quibble - great job.

One thing that I've noticed is the time with which an image stays on screen. On a few of them the text-tied into the pic was long and I didn't get to read it all before it moved on to another image. Obviously a minor concern, but put our best face forward to the internets, right?
I noticed the same thing as HD. The pics rotate a bit too fast - it is difficult to both read the longer text pieces below and take a proper look at the picture. Maybe you could slow down the rotation speed a tiny bit...?
Otherwise the page is really awesome, I like the design, the colours and the atmosphere. You did a great job!
Now I just have to get myself a paypal account... or can I simply mail you my piggy bank...?
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

Looks reeally nice, very crisp, good colours.
(That pic of SE looks a bit - stretched?.. a bit though!)
Really good to see the artwork presented so well too.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Fantastic work, this... me likey! Congratulations to all who contributed time, effort, and money!
The Imperial Sigils/ color scheme etc. are perfect. I also loved the slideshows of the images and text.
Just one quibble - the KCCM pic (toot! toot!) strikes a discordant note in what is otherwise a serious, themed slideshow. Lets add more funny pics, or do away with them altogether...

I completely agree and there are a couple of others on a more comic theme that we intend to post - the TootToot pic is just too good not to have it in there.
We're working on the text/image construction still and some of those need a bit of fine tuning - it's all good though - comments are appreciated
We are going to do something with the encyclopedia this year as well, along with the new forum skin - eventually all three will be themed in a similar way.

second the suggestion of linking the book forums instead fo forum activity.
no spoiler danger and would look more internets, serious business
Toot Toot, has to stay, best picture ever!

Wow, that's fantastic - I love the changing artwork and quotes, and the layout is great - simple, accesible, good colour scheme. It's proper clean, as I would say.
Hey TT, how are you enjoying SE's tour copy of Toll? I assume Menandore has passed it on to you by now?
Shamefully, I havent been back to London for more than a day or so due to uni in a few months, so I havent managed to get myself together to pick it up yet. But, only one week more and I'll be home for a month, and even I have the wherewithal to get it then. Guess how I'll be spending my easter...

We set it to 10 seconds.

So how does the Login/Logout in the bottom left work? Is that a tie to the main forum or something else?
No. Forum and website are not connected. Invision Power is currently developing a new version of IPB. Therefore Joomla developers wait for the finished product before making a bridge for that. The link is for website administrators only in order to access the frontpage editing interface. I am really considering removing that link anyway.

It looks really great! I agree, the forum links should probably point the book forum titles rather than the latest active threads. Or maybe to the latest threads in the announcements forum, since that's relevant, serious and wont contain spoilers.
Is there some way to make that sigil icon the forum default instead of the ugly blue and white V thing it is now? Or do we have to wait for the malzan skin for that?

I am afraid that's skin specific. All skins would need to be changed. But I don't know for sure. However, the new skin will definitely have the new icon there.

In other news, SE is two chapters away from finishing Dust of Dreams
There are a lot of relatively minor things to tweak/fix with the homepage and we are or will be working on them as and when we can so don't worry - this isn't the final version. We just wanted to unveil it after labouring in the shadows up until now
