I wonder why they decided to change the era. I really liked the cold war historical revisionism of the first Black Ops. I don't see why they need to move it into the near future. Seems like this new story would be more suited as a replacement for the Modern Warfare branch of the franchise since they wrapped that one up last year.

Also it really annoys me when movies/games want to make me believe that the worlds technology and architecture changes dramatically within a decade or two. Robots? Really?

well, half the comments on Rock, Paper, Shotgun, are about how Treyarch decided to mercilessly ripoff the setting of DXHR, down to the "black and gold" colour scheme.

I struggle to see why they insist on reboxing their own product year-in, year-out. Why don't they just release DLC that is a 'new' storyline? And charge $60 USD for it. :D

The historical revisionism was ludicrous. SPAS-12s in Vietnam? INCENDIARY ROUNDS??!! (AND HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT'S WHAT IT HAD?!??!) Also; underslung flamethrower wut. IN VIETNAM.

At least have the good graces to do a decent historical revision. >.<

As for rapid changes in technology; possible. Nanotech could theoretically revolutionize everything. Architecture, not so much, seeing as we still have centuries-old buildings standing today. But it is really another form of escapism - it's designed to say "you could have THIS in a decade!", even though it's blatant lies, in some cases. Still, I'm with you on the absurder aspects they try to sell us. :p

I played a lot of CoD games, got hooked with the 2nd one. I like Modern Warfare series the most, the way the story is continued and each end is a cliffhanger, really had me impatiently expecting the continuation. I never liked Black Ops, so I'll probably skip the new game.

Yeah, I liked the first MW the most, and enjoyed the second game until I played the campaign on Veteran about seven times in a row because my stupid corrupted Xbox Live account refused to acknowledge that I had done so. I gave up after the seventh time when it still wouldn't work. >.<

And that was really enough for me to realize the problem with the game's design and decide that I didn't want to play it any more. So I never got around to MW3. Black Ops was just...yeah. I dislike it with a passion, 'nuff said. XD

The biggest problem with black ops was that the maps weren't as good as IW's offerings, and the other main problem is the hit boxes were off. It isn't lag, it isn't something that is easily noticable, but I play a good amount of CoD, and the hit boxes in Black Ops multiplayer were not right. You get head shots by hitting their breastbone, anything lower than that and the hit box is much wider than the body looks on the screen, and you can kill someone by shooting between their legs. But don't try for a headshot, because that is hit and miss, even on targets standing still, breath held, no sway, nothing. Sometimes you get hitmarkers without the headshot, other times you didn't even get a hitmarker.

Drink 3/4 of a bottle of scotch, then play Infected, and just spray everywhere until you turn into a zombie, then see if you can get throwing knife kills across the map.

Blops2 Multiplayer Reveal Trailer

I liked the deployable riot shield, and the dude who can run super fast with nothing but a pistol... but I don't see anything really groundbreaking like they seemed to be implying.
