And, up pops on the news "teenager dies in snowmobile accident." See?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

You, Frookie, chose poorly.
We, chose wisely.
Ours is the cup of the carpenter.

Ice cream has nothing to do with snow. Which makes it eligible for goodness. Especially mint-chocolate chip.

mmm...mint choc chip.
Funniest thing. Both my sisters were in the garden building a snowman, they are in their mid twenties now. The bottom ball was in place and they just rolled the top ball and placed it not too gently on the base. They both looked at me as if to say...Look at our amazing snowman and just at that moment the top half disintegrated. LoL

It's funny, I used to love snow even as recently as 2 years ago, but now I'm part of the 'where the fuck is summer???' crowd. This winter has been brutal for storms, and my city seems to think salting sidewalks is optional. I can't even begin to count the number of people I know who have fallen and suffered some minor injury, let alone how many near misses I myself have had.
Unsurprisingly there's a snowfall warning in effect right now for a good portion of the Maritimes, and I can expect anywhere from 15-30 cm of the white stuff along with ice pellets all day tomorrow. The one redeeming quality of snow is that local universities have finally realized they should close when there's a storm, in the past it would almost require a supreme act of god for them to even consider closing. I happen to have an essay due tomorrow as well, hopefully the prof will post a note in the morning whether she expects us to bring it in or not.

Hedge got stuck in New York for an extra 24hours. Heathrow cancelling all flights meant that his plane is still in London! Hey ho, at least I got a friend for an extra day!

I can live with snow, as a general rule, and sometimes it can be enjoyable (playing footy in the snow in highschool was good times)
I do, however, hate those weeks where the temperature is slightly above 0 during the day, and goes back to minus at night.
because then the snow spends all day in a half-melted slush state, only to get re-frozen at night, to go all slushy again the next day.
MAKE UP YOUR MIND, NATURE!! EITHER MELT FULLY, OR STAY SOLID!!!!
the slush makes me furious, and it usually leaves to my feet being wet.
Regular snow's a hassle, but it can be dealt with.

Are you used to it?
I hate when you get extreme temperatures in not-so-extreme places. It's insane.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.
