Granted. In fact, they are so tidy and professional that they make those pipes shine and your office look like the disorganized junk ladden dusty discount cubicle brutalist architectural circa 1971 farce that it is and now you hate your life. More.

I wish i could have leftovers for lunch every day.

Granted. It's a great way of not wasting food, saves money and all.The only problem with leftovers arises if they are left over for too long, as it just so happened today for your lunch. A bunch of Clostridium botulinum decided to colonise your meat, and you ingest a hefty dose of botulinum toxin, that's right, that's what Botox is made of. It ain't pretty on the inside (often it's not pretty on the outside neither). However, you are in luck and get away with a medium food poisoning because it was a small-ish leftover.

Granted. You never stopped. Those prosthetic fingers are very nice, btw. You can hardly tell. And the IV scars are hardly noticeable. And i hear catheters are all the rage in Europe.

I wish i had a piece of delicious cake here next to me, in no way dangerous and ready to be consumed.

Granted. The cake is lovely, the roof collapsing on your head however, is not. Small consolation: your loved ones receive a really nice bouquet of flowers from the building company to put on your grave.

I wish I wasn't hungover at 9 PM like I am now.

Granted. By virtue of the miracle of time zones you are hungover at 4, 5 and 6pm in other parts of the world. Waste of a wish if you asked me.

I wish everyone would just shut up and do as i say.

Granted. I still hurts but looks now like a nose where make-up creme, concealer and powder and other such beautifying things match your complexion exceptionally well. To quote Abyss' "Waste of a wish if you asked me", because you might as well have used make-up and after sun lotion. Or suncream, perhaps, before you exposed your tender part to the glaring sun.

I wish I had already finished all the work for today and could leave for the weekend.

Granted your work is completed and you are able to leave for the weekend. You enjoy your weekend and nothing bad happens. Or does it....

Granted. Through your hard work and determination as well as a little (read all) of your blood, the thread is saved.

I wish I didn't have to get up at 3:45 am this morning and could have slept in until at least 7:00 am GMT -7

Granted. However, as payment exacted for your extended sleep, you now have a raging case of genital herpes.

I wish that I could cure writer's block.

I

Granted.
Soon now, you'll hear music from afar- chanting, harmonium, drums and tambourines. As the source of the sound approaches, you are able to make out the words... it goes as follows:
"Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna ...deep breath.... Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare" and so on and so forth.
If I am not mistaken, another guy just joined their ranks. Love and peace and free food for the whole world.

I wish for a pony.

Granted. Sadly you didn't wish for a live pony. Enjoy your horse corpse.

Granted. Although due to scheduling conflicts the part of Riddick is being played by Simon Cowell.

I wish that the IT guy with body odor would hurry the hell up and finish installing my new systems

He has finished installing your systems, but sadly, the body odor has creeped into your seat, your desk, your pc and the walls. Enjoy your (work)place.

I wish I hadn't had an internet breakdown on work on Transfer Deadline Day (not that much has happened so far).

You go back in time and fix the internet before the imminent breakdown, but are arrested for trespassing and when they look at your records, they find you are a murderer, and you are placed on death row.

Granted, OST came out and everyone was extremely shocked.

I wish work wasn't so boring today.

Granted. Work is so not boring today that, that, as you leave the building far later than at your usual time, you feel a kind of pain running down your left arm, a shortage of breath and stabbing pain in your chest.

Mild Toll The Hounds spoiler coming up here:
Spoiler

You, however, collapse on the sidewalk just outside work. You are in luck, though, because as you are going down an empty emergency ambulance happens to pass by, the driver notices you lying there, pulls over and you are immediately taken care off. It was a minor heart attack, you won't die of it and you get a couple of days off work too. Hope you won't be too bored while you are recovering.

I wish I could devise a method of distilling wasted and lost time every evening from the world, such as time wasted while waiting on the bus, for an elevator, in the lunch queue and then I would bottle it up in an old fashioned brown bottle with an old fashioned stopper, store it safely in my larder until such time as I could do with the extra hour, or two. Which is really every day.
