Granted. You are now Stephen Hawking.

Granted. The Jetsons, however, are still living there and it turns out that their homicidal tendencies and xenophobia never made it onto the TV series. You die, a hideous and futuristic death.

I wish that I got into Monash University.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Granted. You get the job as janitor.

I wish it was far below 0 dC here and 3m of snow, nobody had to go to work and kids (including me ) could jump off roofs into mounds of snow.

Granted. Unfortunately, the 3m of snow fall in 3 seconds while you were outside. You're frozen solid and will remain in that state for a while. Until the snow melts, which is somewhere mid-March.

I wish there were no deadlines.

Granted. There are no longer any deadlines, and nothing ever gets completed and nothing new ever gets created.

I wish I had more free time.

Granted. You're fired, your SO, friends and family want nothing to do with you, and your computer is broken.

I wish this day would improve.

Granted. It is now only -22 C and snowing 8 centimetres per hour. If you hurry you will be able to make it home before you are completely snowed in.

I wish I had more ambition to get this stupid program I'm working on running properly.

Granted. It's running so properly that it makes Skynet and the 'puters from The Matrix look like an old Atari running Pac-Man. Humanity is doomed in the next twelve seconds. Nice work.

I really wish this day wouldn't get any worse.

Granted, the day hasn't gotten worse. However time has decided that it no longer wants to go in a straight line and will now loop back to the beginning of today every 24 hours. FOREVER.

I wish that it was July 28th tomorrow.

Granted. You have now moved to the 27th of July 2012 (today, on the 18.1.2012). For some reason, this shift only happened to you and from now on, you live approximately 5 months ahead of everybody else. It's kind of impossible to have a normal life and you turn into a hermit. A chrono-hermit so to speak, since you are not isolated locally, but timewise.

I wish I had heard the strange sounds.

Granted. You heard the strange sounds but now you can't stop hearing them. Your family calls a Priest to exorcise you thinking you are possessed, which, you actually are. During the exorcism you attempt numerous feats of contortion and flexibility that, once the demon is removed from you, completely and utterly ruin your bone structure. You are now the world's second Boneless Man.

I wish my cell phone was really a light saber.

Granted. But you fried it in the swamp again! Qui-Gon told you to be more careful!

I wish that I hadn't lost my debit card.

You did stop at one bottle of red wine. You did drink a bottle of tequila afterwards, though, to congratulate yourself on your restraint. Just maaaaaybe that headache won't kill you, but the hastily sewed up wound where your left kidney used be, does look worrisome.

I wish I wasn't so tired.

Granted. You have Fatal Familial Insomnia with a twist, coffee works all the time for you. Therefore, maybe 4 months to enjoy yourself, have fun.

I wish my feet weren't so damn cold this morning.

Granted. Your feet are now well-tempered for winter. The slight disadvantage is in summer they are a tad too warm and hence always sweaty. This leads to blisters, sweaty boot rush, athlete's foot and what not. Also, you are surrounded by constant cloud of sweaty feet smell. People sniff and then move away from you in public transport, leave the cinema when sat next to you etc. Also, you can't really wear any closed shoes anymore, in fact any kind of shoework and socks are uncomfortable and smell within a short period of time. Luckily, that's only during summer time.

I wish the water was repaired at work and we could use the toilets again.

Granted. The water IS repaired! And you CAN use the toilets.
Which was a complete and total bust of a wish because your boss was about to send you home for the day. Next time ask for a pony.

I wish i had an extra hour to complete this work.

You do. But you don't use it for said work, rather you use it goose-stepping up and down the nearest road while hollering "ARE YOU FUCKED?!"

I wish that my beard didn't grow back as fast.

Granted. Your beard grows incredibly slowly, but the hair needs to grow fast somewhere else on your body. Thus it does, making you look awkward and a total social pariah and even yeti-man Alan Moore won't look at you.

I wish I had something new and swanky to wear to the Symphony tonight.

Your shiny new studded latex leather and lace body suit is standing by. Sorry the wish-faerie is a little dyslexic but you're certainly going to leave an impression at the Symphony.

I wish i didn't have to choose between thai food and pizza tonight.
