There is no gayness
Vegeta and Goku do not want to have sex... They really don't. Not even a bit. They're just in touch with their feminine sides and are companions... There's no sexual attraction at all. None. Nada.

I must say, I like reading this conversation. It almost makes me wish I had a can of sparkling water and some sweet popcorn while the good-natured caps fly around.
Surprises me that people (Lisheo!) haven't yet said that Terez is taking things out of context and is strawmanning, to stick to Mafia terms
But I do think there's some evidence that especially Vegeta, brimming with anger and testosterone, is up for it...
As for perversion, it all depends on the zeitgeist.
2000 years ago pederastery was fully accepted, 500 years ago age gaps of near 40 years were common in marriages and anal sex was an accepted way to let a girl go as a virgin to her marriage, 200 years ago the female orgasm was denied and female sexual activity was frowned upon, 100 years ago up to WW 2 marriages were often loveless affairs, for as long as there's a catholic church, everything but the boring old missionary up and down was frowned upon, and nowadays we have the interweb and we can watch whatever we damn well like (as long as it is legal) in complete privacy, or post about it on a forum.
Interesting thing about the parallel between guys liking lesbian porn and girls liking gay porn, I never thought of that in such a way

Girls like gay porn? When did this happen? I have had various moments where lesbians have come up in our guy-talk and girls have expressed confusion as to why it is so sexy, and given an emphatic "NO!" when we asked whether gay porn was hot, in an effort to try and explain the phenomenon.

I don't know anything about Pokemon, or any other anime for that matter - I only watched DBZ. lol...and trust me, it's not about seeing what you want to see. Like I said several times, it's a running joke among pretty much everyone I know irl that watched DBZ.
Mappo is right, though - not as many girls claim to like gay porn as guys claim to like lesbian porn.

First I love how this thread went from the presidental family to lies about DBZ
Second- I was watching this stuff like 10 years ago, my friends and I would go to school and talk about the episodes from the night before. It WAS a BIG deal.
Hell, there was even a trading card game. We played it for a while hehe.

I owned every single episode of DBZ and watched most of them multiple times. It's been a while (I lost all my tapes 3 years ago in Hurricane Katrina) so I had to shake loose a few memories to find the gay moments I posted above. I'm probably forgetting a lot of them. There are a couple more I can think of but don't remember where they happened, but they weren't major ones anyway (not like Goku's gay vision of naked Vegeta or Vegeta hiding behind the tree).
I only watched a bit of GT before I got really bored with it. Dragonball was cute, but not cute enough to either dedicate myself to watching it on TV every day or buy the tapes.
I also stopped watching TV in general when I stopped watching DBZ on TV. That was about 10 years ago.

Hey Terez... was it really necessary to change your pic?

It's a bit off topic but, given the direction the thread has taken, maybe not so much...
Okay, so the very first time I can ever recall consciously noticing the whole Ho Yay (read the TV Tropes Links I posted earlier) subtext in any movie or tv show I was watching was actually in the, wildly heterosexual and insanely testosterone fueled, movie Predator. Before any of you red-blooded males call me out on that, you might want to note that the film was written by Shane Black; who also wrote the Lethal Weapon movies and, more apropos for the point I'm making, Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang and is a guy who knows exactly what it is he's doing when it comes to subtext.
Now, this is the kind of thing that gets me accused of seeing subtext everywhere but... Assuming you've all seen the movie that is, if not SPOILERS!!!
...there's a scene after Jesse Ventura's character is killed and Bill Duke's character is totally cut-up about it. So he's sitting by the body, guarding it and drinking (macho-man style), when Arnie rolls up and pretty much asks why he's so cut up about it when he's seen men die in combat before - I'm paraphrasing here, as I don't have this film's dialogue (such as there is) committed to memory. Bill Duke turns around to Arnie, practically with tears glittering in his eyes, and says "He was my friend." Okay, so there's this very slight emphasis on the word "friend", which is a bit strange, and then there's Arnie's reaction, which is key; he looks vaguely...embarrassed for a second, says nothing - there's not even a manly pat on the shoulder - and then shuffles off as if he's intruded on something very intimate...
So, obviously, the standard interpretation of this scene is that Bill and Jesse had fought in all sorts of wars together and Bill's mourning his comrade-in-arms who went through all sorts with him and has finally fallen in battle and that Arnie, respecting their warriors' bond is being circumspect. However, when I saw it I immediately thought, "Did that just mean what I think it did? That they were (or had been in the past) lovers...? That Bill, in his macho, inarticulate way, just let Arnie in on that secret? Is that why Arnie looks so embarrassed (and even a bit weirded out)? OMG! They were, like, totally gay! That's hilarious!"
Needless to say, this reinterpretation does not go down at all well with the vast majority of fans of the movie. Which is ironic, as most of the male cast (none of whom would appear out of place in a gay porn shoot) seem to spend the majority of the film stripped to the waist and apparently covered in baby oil... Making it one of the gayest movies of the 80s, which as we all know was a decade noted for the unintentional (and entirely intentional, in some cases) homoeroticism of its action movies.
ps Top Gun anyone?

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants.
