No matter how well I played or did anything I was always going to be killed day 3 or 4 through no fault of my own. Whats the point in having a cult where the leader is exposed to everyone via a role? Not just a random find or anything but Brutus specifically the leader of the cult. Brutii never had a chance

I disagree, there, but your mileage may vary - Brutus had no chance, yes.
Longinus, with the target immunity + kill, would have been a real strong killer, and would have had backup from someone who could communicate: Ment.
The pain right now is just that Ment has revealed and Longinus is dead.
Well I disagree, you've made the classic mistake of not realising that the power of the cult/merc game like this isn't roles, its infomation. The hard part is working out who is in the cult. By exposing the leader (which is wrong - you haven't given the Brutus role a fair go, it should be revealed via play, a find, or guesswork or whatever not an automatic reveal, its against the point of the game, what the player does is irrevelvant) its very easy to pick up other members of the group either through the defence of the person as was the case, or just the voting or things which have happened. Also we still need to recruit, and that abilitiy is gone.
Also I notice my secret ability doesn't cater for the scenario when I have 2 recruits, its more than 2, or less than 2...? What happens with 2.
