I gave my sister, who is dying from leukemia, a few Terry Goodkind books. She enjoyed them so much she once said to me, "sometimes when I read these books, the pain fades and I can feel happy". She continued to read them until the last few days of her... No, I'm jerking you guys around. TG is horrible human being.

Lets be honest here, if you gave a woman weakened by leukemia and chemo a Goodkind book, it would kill her... not a pleasant way to die at all.

I think I would beg for the sweet release of death if I had to read those books.

So you're saying TG's books should be administered to dying people?

No he's saying they should only be read by the dying. That way we wouldn't be needlessly exposing otherwise healthy people to the soul eroding (and potentially suicide inducing) awfulness of TG.

EDIT: I was just thinking I'd love to think that in some way TG got to read this thread and that our work here might make him shed a single tear at how much we hate the clunge.

In all honesty now, a good friend of mine read the first four or five books in that series and after observing TG's mugshot on the back of those books for four or five novels in a row remarked to me, "He looks like the kind of man who may attempt to pinch your nipples off".

I think you may be on to something here, does anyone have the number of one of those Swiss auto-euthanasia clinics ?
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

I gave my dog, who is dying of old age, a copy of Wizard's First Rule. He chewed it to shreds and then wiped his his ass on the shredded pages. Well done, ol' boy, well done.

No. He planted his browneye firmly on the the ground, and then used his his front paws to scrape his ass on Goodkind.

I gave my friend who was suffering from extreme masturbation syndrome Stone of Tears, he tore through that book like a box of cleenex at a snot party. He enjoyed it so much he once said to me, "sometimes when I use these books, the urge fades and I can fall asleep".

Hey, just because we don't like TG doesn't mean....though that sounds awfully like an argument a TG fan might use...:p

Ok, here i go. What makes Terry Goodkind's sword of truth series any worse than what we have seen in, say, Robert Jordan's whlee of time? I find both series went to hell after the first three installments, but why are we bashing Terry, and not sharing the hate?

You may not see it, but I am angrily shaking my fist at all of you.
I still heart Goodkind.

Hey, thanks for the love guys, but I must warn you. What if I was TG in disguise, hating on my own work to receive your approval? What if I was so desperate for acclaim that I was willing to attempt to demean myself further? I mean, I'm not. But it sounds like something he might do...

I kind of hesitate to get into this thread, but: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Terry Goodkind is not done yet, and is bringing evil chickens, repetition, and hackneyed philosophy to a new world. Our OWN!

http://www.amazon.com/Law-Nines-Terry-Good...0175&sr=8-1

Apologies if this has been brought up earlier in the thread, but I can't be bothered to read back through 24 pages of things I agree with.
