You know you do this a lot. Get into an argument where the last post is your long rebuttal and then finish by saying this is not the place to argue the point. Often with a not so subtle mention of modship. Bit of a cheap trick really - "here's why i'm right, and you can't reply"

Would be more respectable to say "say on topic" without having to get the last word in, no?

Of course he can reply, I actually said, I won't reply, I won't stop anyone replying to a post unless a warning is repeated or the poster breaks the rules. I'm a member and have a right to reply as much as anyone, maybe I'll do two seperate posts next time.

My post was an element of the discussion and an offer to discuss it further somewhere more appropriate if Assail wants to. The only issues I expressed modship on were the insulting element which I'll always try to keep a lid on whether I'm involved in the thread or not and the fact that we should stop derailing. I'd understand your point if we'd been having some huge barney.

Oh, and stay on topic.

@Cougar No insult intended, it's just my view that associating Vietnam with baby killing is like saying every Iraqi or Iranian is a terrorist, which is unarguably an ignorant statement.

Now I'm not modding:

It was you who mentioned baby killing you plank, now you're objecting to terminology you used first.

You know you do this a lot. Get into an argument where the last post is your long rebuttal and then finish by getting weird and schizophrenic. Often with a not so subtle mention of spit personalities. Bit of a cheap trick really - "here's why i'm right, and me to, and me too"

Would be more respectable to say "say on topic" without having to get the last word in over and over again, no?

Excellent Wry, on a serious note if you can point me via PM to one of these multiple examples of me doing this I'd be interested to address this glaring flaw in my modding. Cos I strive for perfection I just looked through my last few hundred posts.

Also: all your banword filters are belong to us.

EDIT: actually we best return to the topic as much as I'm enjoying this little diversion.

I made an indirect claim that you were one of those "uninformed Brits who likes to think of the U.S. military as a bunch of baby killers." Or something there abouts, you never denied this indirect claim, thus my statement.

That makes sense, right?

Goodkind is an old fart with a weird beard (Yeard? Sheard?)!

Goodkind: " This story is missing something, but I just can't put my finger/claw/talon on it. Hmm, now I know! I'll put some rape here, and some more rape here, and maybe just a hint of kicking children in the face here. Oh, and I'll finish it all with some rape. There, another book done."

Ha ha, try explaining that away!

To be fair, the part where he kicked Violet in the face was extremely satisfying. In fact, it was about as satisfying as (Thousandfold Thought spoiler)

Yes, but in the spirit of this thread you must bash the Shearded Vulture in some way. You can't just leave an entirely positive comment!

I'm not a fan of Goodkind per say...in fact I shit on him and dis-recommend him to friends (convinced someone who'd read Goodkind to try Bakker the other day ;) (my town's horrible library doesn't have anything by erikson)).

But my...distaste for some of his writing doesn't extend to hatred. He was the first epic fantasy author I've read, after all. :killingme:

I finished reading Confessor last night. There was a lot of skimming going on whenever the characters decided to infodump to each other for my benefit and when Richard got a hair up his ass to preach. The plot points were alright, and I enjoyed the book for what it was - the end of an epic fantasy series. This is the first one that has finished, for me. It was a nice feeling.
