If you're on the side of the map closer to Vault 101, between it and the closest 'walls' of the map, then it's Tenpenny Tower - a place for the rich of the wastelands. ^^

I was thinking Washington Monument. It really depends on where in the world your exploring. This is in the SE corner of the map if your there.

Okay, so reading back through the thread I can see a lot of people complaining about lack of ammo, stimpacks and caps. I don't understand this. Basically, anything you find can be sold, so say you kill five scavengers, you pick up all their armor and weaponry. Chose fasttravel to the nearest merchant,in my case Megaton. Then sell the lot, and you can buy lots of stimpacks and ammo. Not that I need ammo, it's prety much everywhere.
Besides this, there's beds pretty much anywhere. One hours rest and you're maxed out again.

While some may complain early on I certainly don't see it. I have over 100 stims (didn't buy any of them) along with more ammo than I could ever use. Basically as long as you explore the world you will find plenty of goodies but if you stick to the main storyline you'll have less stuff than others.

You know what this game is missing? Instead of the fast travel option there should be cars or bikes or quads but more imortantly, 50s style flying cadillacs! It really would be awesome and it would solve the annoyance of having to trek endless miles at that slow trot the gamedevelopers call running.

Uhm...yeah...and then you have to turn the game into a car combat sim as well.
And since when did you last run 200km at a sprint, Apt? (Except when you were running away from stealing wheelchairs....)
They shouldn't even have fast travel.
And what difficulty are you guys playing on that you have so much ammo? Sure in later-game it's common, but there's really not that much early on...

I'm playing on normal.
Well the terrain isn't exactly that fit for vehicles. It would just make travel more realistic, fun and diverse. You could then have roads with blocades, Brotherhood of Steel controlled tanks and I repeat flying cadillacs! (I love the ninja turtles)
By the way I'm playing it right now and I've just had a hilarious glitch twice. I was killing all the slavers in Paradise Falls and when I went through a door, when it reloaded Paladin Hoss popped out and ran through the compound spraying bullets at random and then disappeared. Strangest thing.

You have to get access to the Brotherhood of Steel Citadel, which is only possible by progressing through the main questline.
Then you can ask Elder Lyons for permission to get Power Armour training. ^^

Methinks I might have to play the main quest for a bit then.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."
I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

Ah, the main quest line. I've been doing everything else. I just found out I'm only on the third step out of ten in the main storyline. Currently I have to visit the Museum of Technology to repair GNRs radiosignal.

That's where I stopped too and just started exploring and doing side quests.

My advice: Don't rush the main quest. Because the game ends when you finish it, and if you go too far you feel (and eventually get) forced into following it to completion.
I did that with my first character, and only got up to level 17, after 30+ hours of play. Do lots of the other stuff first - I'm exploring everything with my new character. ^^

Yeah I hear ya, though I am thinking of just finishing so I can see where it goes. I'm definitely neutral right now and want to start over and do some things differently with my skills and perks, but am too far in to just quit. Really thought I would use more melee and would take a LOT off that and dedicate it to other things.

Yeah, melee is somewhat disappointing, for me.
It's not bad, it just isn't as useful as other things. With small guns, you have shotguns which do tons of damage at close range...so what's the point in melee?
Plus you have to get really close. Ideally, they would have made most melee a one-shot or two-shot kill scenario. Because a chainsaw to the face would kill most things, methinks. That would make the charging in to get a hit worth it. Currently you have to be a damage sponge to get close enough.
And the guns are just so much more satisfying! Especially with VATS. ^^

I just made my first shishkebab sword. Tried it out on the citizens on of Mageton... it's supereffective!!!
For killing of critters and ghouls it's great.

Here's a question. Where in the fuck do you get schematics from? All I've seen is the Rock-It Launcher and the Bottlecap Mine.

You get them from 1) finding them in the world (check internet) or 2) doing the quests and grabbing them as rewards. I've got them all and only like the railway rifle and shiskebab.
My thoughts on power armor is don't bother, its not too great and it weighs a lot. I am using the Ranger armor and has good stats. However, there is a talking suit of power armor that injects meds for you when your hurt, its cool.

I'm trying to remember where I got the schematic from, but I can't recall. It's awesome though, so... nah nah!
