I curled up next to it....I could fit in that box. Does that mean it is something big or does it mean it has a lot of packaging?????

It means you must now live inside that box, it is singing its siren song demanded someone to be inside it ... take that however ... ;)

Knicks had a good win today against Orlando, but now they start an eight game stretch of all hard games. I don't think they will make the playoffs :p Crushing my mood.

People not responding to texts in a reasonable amount of time. Normally I don't particularly care, but when an answer is needed pretty quickly and it takes somebody on average about an hour to respond, it can get more than a little frustrating.

Wow, you would have gone nuts in the pre-2000 world. ;)

Snotface is going back to Canberra for 2 weeks to see friends, her dad etc and I will be going to Gladstone and Rockhampton for a week or so from the 12th. Leaving the GF home alone in a town where she knows nobody. :p

Looking back instead of focussing almost exclusively on them maybe I should have made an effort to at least introduce the GF around. But I thought when they moved here I was supposed to stick with them. Now it turns out I could have left snotface at home during the day on the weekends and taken the GF out ... but how the hell was I supposed to know that?

Now I have no fricking idea what to do. I'm beginning to feel that creeping sense of "no matter what I do, I can't win and I'm always the bad guy". :p

Is this what it's going to be like for me being a guy in a relationship for the rest of my life?

BTW, I'm not joking.

Not really, wouldn't have known any better. :p

And just to clarify, it's not an issue of 'YOU MUST RESPOND TO ME INSTANTLY, HOW DARE YOU HAVE SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT TO DO', it's that I know she's always on her phone but has a habit of getting a message, reading it and then just not replying until she suddenly remembers it later.

Try working in the healthcare business during a public holiday:( That's what's ruining my day today. Nothing gets done because everyone's buggered off and left the everloving hospital empty of all but the bare essential personnel.

Just tell her you're sorry and hate how your good intentions and focus on the three of you now partially backfire. If you had taken them all around evening after evening, that wouldn't have been good either.
Then remedy the situation: make sure she gets to know people and gets to bond with those she likes.
Or arrange something for her to do for 1-2 days. I dunno, a course or something in one of her favorite hobbies, just to break that week? Or ask her to invite her family/ friends over, suggest a few good spots on the town where they can get a bite and a drink?

Then again, I doubt she's a dainty flower who will wilt during the week both yuo and her daughter aren't there. It sucks, but she probably survived worse.

I hear what you're saying, but apparently this place isn't one for hobbies - not that she has many. She doesn't drive, due to an eye disorder (hey, she finds me attractive so it must be a major one :p). She has also never been alone for extended periods in her life before. She's not like me, in that I can go for a long time content in my own company in the evenings after work only occasionally dropping in on people. We're a long way from anyone I know in this area. Except Loki, and sorry but the GF is neither an AFL fan or a gamer/geek. Maybe we could do dinner out one night and see how that goes?

Thanks for the suggestions anyway. We'll see how things go I guess.

Hopefully the other people who lift weights at a public gym will appreciate this one...

Fuck people who walk into my place of peace and completely fuck everything up and throw shit everywhere and fuck everything up. Fuck.

I walk into my gym, and lo! Before me I see both benches, the incline bench, the decline bench, AND the Smith machine all with 45lb weights still on them. Okay, fine, some people don't understand the concept of warming up, whatever. Then, look, all over the floor. Dumbbells ranging from 25 to 70lbs strewn all over the room, creating a hazard that no man carrying weights can pass without breaking an ankle or at least stubbing a toe.

By this point I was extremely annoyed. Normally I don't have to deal with this shit because I go in the early morning, and few weight lifters go before me, mostly older people using machines and such. Luckily, today I wasn't using that area of the weight training room, and I wasn't feeling charitable so I left the mess as it was.

Then I journeyed over to the squat rack, where I could do my exercises for today. But look! The maelstrom of evil and destruction had left his mark here as well. The bar was low in the rack, so the culprit was either extremely short or had strange squatting form. Attached to it was a pussy pad, so the culprit was clearly a bitch who can't take a week of pain while your bones get used to the weight of the bar.

On the weight holder next to the squat rack was the usual stuff, only two 45lb weights, the rest on the deadlift machine thing (no big deal, they're always there). But above the 45s, my worst nightmare arose. In the place where my glorious 35lb weights rest, was but a single 35lb weight. On top of it was FIVE 25lb weights, for no fucking reason. There were 3 more 25lbs in the normal spot.

WHY.

So I unracked all of the 25s, set them near the kettlebell weights, and grabbed my 35, found another on the nearby calves machine, and went to do my ohp's. Later after squats I discovered that near the decline situp spot, there were FIVE weights sitting on the ground, 45, 35, 25, 10, 5 along with a 15 lb medicine ball.

WAT.

It's a minor inconvenience that only ads a little time to my workout, but holy shit why can't people pick up after themselves? It's infuriating.

Okay, rant over.

My mum lives near by and works from home :p

Luci and I also don't work :p

I actually do like cooking people dinner and don't mind the drive if she can put up with us young people :p

That sucks but at least you know now so when you are back you can take her out more!

Groove messed by my direct co-worker being away for almost two weeks already due to private/family problems.

Out of the past four weeks (including this week) he has only worked like a week because he was ill during the first week.

The workload (which was already unevenly shared between us due to him taking a lot of smoking breaks/texting to his wife) has been on me all this time now and it's to much for one person causing me racking a lot of overtime in the
past weeks trying to finish everything that should be ready.

Other work which I normally do because he doesn't think it's important (texting his wife/browsing the internet for a holiday destination/checking his mail is more important for him) has been neglected by me now too because I don't have time for it and it racks up. If he gets back next week, I'll be running the evening shift again and I will finally have time to do the other work, but it probably will mean that I will spend most of the two remaining evening shifts on that work.

The overtime is getting paid and I'm still getting the extra money which I usually get for working the morning shift one week, the evening shift the other, but the day shift is getting tiresome now and I have missed three days off already. I had taken today off weeks ago because I had plans (but I had to revoke it because he wasn't at work) and the other two I would have been off because the evening shift is only from Monday till Thursday.

I hardly had any time to relax doing fun stuff during weekdays because was to tired and during the past few nights I hardly have slept because the things that I still had to do kept roaming in my head somehow and when I finally was asleep I had to wake up because I had to get out of bed to get to go work again.

Thankfully it's weekend now and I had time to rant here.

I was told I was now too old for an Easter egg, too old!

I still have no voice either, so I couldn't even throw a hissy fit and prove them all wrong. I had to sulk in silence, which would have had more of an impact if I was able to say anything in the first place.

We must revolt against such treatment.
