It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Shiara is trying to make me buy Mills and Boon, or books that will make me feel better about Mills and Boon.

This is not my day. Woke up with a bad throat infection (although since I barely slept woke up is slightly optimistic), outside the weather is rainy but ridiculously close, making everything feel sticky and uncomfortable, went to the shops and thought, weekend, I don't care about the lactose thing I need chocolate and grabbed a pack of assorted ones, got home and it was all coffee and Turkish delight both of which I hate, my mental breakdown has now commenced.

Got drunkdialed last night, which would have been more fun had I 1) been drunk or 2) not been asleep.
To make matters worse it was two of my brother's friends, one of whom is fantastically overweight and wants my babies, the other being suuper cute and not wanting them.

Feels like I've broken my elbow, absolutely kills when I try to move it. I got fantastically plastered last night though so no idea how it happened either.

Drove down to my sister's town in part so we could hit up the Borders and go on a mini-spree on closeout prices, but turns out the store closed for good a few days ago. Not a big deal, but it woulda been nice.

Yep. All the Borders and all but ONE Barnes and Noble in my area have closed. It blows.

Real estate prices and commutes. Most of the areas I would want to live in are going to be a 45+ minute commute each way, which I'm not sure I want to deal with. And in most of the areas I would be willing to live, real estate prices are running $450-500/square foot for a condo. Add in that I am planning on going back to Uni part-time to finish my Masters next year, and nowhere I would like to live being affordable and convenient to both work and Uni , and I'm lost as to where I want to buy.

Unsolicited advice: make the commute instead of paying insane prices. You can catch up on your podcasts or new albums or something along the way. If you aren't the type who sees red on the road, and gas prices don't cancel your savings out, I'd think it would be worth it.

Except for the trips to university, there isn't really an inverse relation between commute times and cost. The couple of places I think I would most enjoy living are both the furthest out and the most expensive. In any case, when I buy I will likely be spending the same amount regardless of locale, so it is a matter of how nice a place I buy not how much I spend. But yeah, once gas, maintenance and replacement costs are factored in it comes to around 50 cents per km of travel, so it is definately worth factoring in (but I've already ruled out the areas nearest work, those areas would mean a choice between retirement communities or having a crack house on my block).
