This has to be one of the worst days for my groove ever....
Attempted to use the chicago Metra system on this first day of clinic, only to wind up a good 3-4 miles from my destination. To make matters worse, I'm in dress shoes that do not lend themselves to long walks, I was running early and now I'm 20 minutes late, I sweat a lot (which doesn't bode well for dressy clothes and the lack of deodorant under my arms), and I am wandering semi-lost in the southside of chicago which is not one of the safer areas of town, especially for a white dude.
So I make it alive and kind-of well to clinic (largely thanks to my wife driving south and picking me up as I wandered the streets) and after making it through the day, manage to get lost again while looking for the train station to get home (the one I should have ended up that morning).
But wait, there's more!
Meanwhile back home, my poor wife locks herself out of the apartment, middle of the day when trying to take the dogs out for a piddle. Doesn't have her phone, baby is inside screaming and no one is around. So she kicks down the front door which was fortunately not dead-bolted. Really sad considering that we both worked hours over several days on that door to reenforce it and then put the trim back on.....

That sounds like some motivational bullshit. With a proper reinforced door, she'd sooner break some bones than kick them in.
