At least 500 people are dead in floods and landslides in Brasil.

And we thought we had it bad. :p

EDIT: truly epic headache struck out of the blue late this morning. In a few minutes it felt like a 1 inch thick steel bar had been shoved from temple to temple and was somehow pounding at the back of my eyeballs as well as the blood vessels over each temple being swollen and pounding like hell. No I wasn't hungover, or dehydrated for that matter. Ended up having to take 2 lots of 2 medium-heavy tablets and go back to bed. Not fun at all.
But I'm a lot better now. Still baffled as to the cause though. :p

My girlfriend has decided that she wants to fight via e-mail from across the planet and nothing I say is having any effect on that decision.

I'm just going dark until she stops spitting nonsense at me. Hope she gets over it soon.

THis weekend has been increadibly unproductive. And I have a 10 page memo due.. you guessed it, tomorrow morning.

also, a major term paper due in about 2 weeks, but that's a minor annoyance right now.

ARGH, why the hell can't I focus this semester?

I'm a supervisor for the swing shift at the main textbook bookstore for the University of Texas here in Austin and classes start in 2 days and work will just blow up unbelievably this week even more than it has been lately so, yeah I got that to look forward to this week.

We just moved from our last hotel to a new one. Whereas the previous one was roomy, had individual beds and was just plain nicer, this one is cramped, has only 2 double beds (and there are 6 of us) and is quite shabby. There's also hardly any space for me to conduct my work. Sigh...next 5 days are going to be rather trying.

I'm working the london shift this week. Everyone in europe is extremely nice and patient when they call, but holy fuck getting up at 2:25am to come into work after working a 9-5 for years and barely being in bed by 1 is hard.

But don't worry, once about a week goes by and my body starts adjusting its sleep schedule, I go back to my normal shift. OH BOY.

Especially since I am raiding until midnight 3 nights before the shift starts. And it isn't like the 12 people in London and 4 in Spain and 17 in Germany and 7 in Norway really do need a lot of support that their 2 'local' techs cannot provide.

So tired. So very tired.

Blood infection worked it's way from a cut on my finger and had left vein trace marks up to my armpit. Two trips to the ER later...

Heard from one of our teachers our college administrator sent in an application to make our college state-approved*. I hope he gets smacked right in his face with it. Ever since he's been going about managing the college half a year ago stuff's been going downhill. Except, of course, for the movie-related department, because he's in charge of them.

Even if they pass the application it's likely to take long enough for me to be out of there by the time they put it into action, but it'd be a pity.

*One might thing a state-approved diploma is a good thing, which it usually is, but I'm not keen on learning maths when I want to study art. It's also bad for people who are insanely talented but failed at school because of the educational system.

Played hockey last night. Took a slapshot to my left ankle. I can't even walk today.

But such a manly injury!

Doctor's appointment for the second time in a month. Terrified I have TMJ. Can't hear out of my left ear.

I just want to not be sick anymore. Two straight months of this shit.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

went swimming today. for the first time since exams in December. I have a feeling my entire body will hurt tomorrow.

Not only that, but i've had this aweosme plan on how i'm gonna come home and get all my readings done, and go to sleep at a decent hour for once.

and then I was ambushed in rez lobby by a bunch of people I haven't spoken to in forever, and got involved in tasting homemade apple wine my RA made in October.

two and a half hours later.... :unworthy:
