Second time an appartment I had interest in gets (nearly) sold the day I make an appointment to view it.
There is not much else catching my fancy currently on the market, which means I am reduced to waiting, hoping the financing of the current buyers will bounce, which is a shitty thing to do.

I'm stuck in Edinburgh while I was supposed to have been home 24 hours ago and I won't be flying out until Wednesday morning (unless the snow comes back of course)... At least I'm one of those not sleeping in an airport...

Just spent nearly two hours getting home. A journey that would normally take about 50mins.

Snow + Football Match = Major annoyance
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

Silly girl, why won't you answer my messages?

Oh, and undecided whether my new beard makes me look shmexy or really raggy. A conundrum indeed.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Don't you have to hit puberty before you can grow a beard?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Hmmmm....sarcasm or ignorance? I'm gonna be nice and go with the second one. I am sporting a thick coat of hair on my jaw, but it's not quite that thick yet...maybe I'll just get rid of the mo.

Pics! And we'll settle it for you:)

Groove is messed because there's something wrong with ze computer. All the new images in the funny pics thread only appear as "Posted Image" or some such nonsense. I want funny pictures, dammit!

Also, my X-mas break will probably be rather short due to work

My mental image of AIJ has just been flipped upside-down.

Anyway, groove is messed by the fast approaching christmas days. Days full of not being alone at home and somebody constantly nosing around in what I'm doing and thus me getting nothing done.. Oh joy.

Didn't get the Uni job I was up for.

I was sure I had nailed the interview, had the right background experiance (fuck I have more Qualifacations than most of my supervisors) and people lined up ready to lie for me as referances.

Oh well at least I still have my crappy old job

goodbye better hours, more intresting work and a 11K payrise, maybe another time

I received a call yesterday from Origin Energy to the effect that the person who had to read the meter for the changeover from the previous resident to myself couldn't gain access, so had to come through the house to get to the tiny back yard. I asked when had they been there and was told (by the woman with the appallingly thick accent, after several times I had to ask "say again?") around 1pm. When I mentioned I had been there since 1030am, they changed it to 1020am. :p

So she said the meter reader would be here "between 8am and 1pm" today. I asked for them to call me before arriving, but was told "they don't carry a mobile phone". I reacted with considerable incredulity :) (Mum was there, I was polite), so spent my first night here last night on my new comfy bed of comfiness. Been waiting since 8am and it is now 1213pm. If they don't arrive by 105pm I am going to place a very irate phone call to Origin Energy. :)
