Well our Pres just cancelled our office Xmas party because of the alphanumeric flu (love that term, btw!). The irony is that no-one here has it yet but because most of us won't have been vaccinated by the time the party rolls around (thanks to an incompetent vaccination strategy) they aren't taking any chances.

I hadn't yet decided if I was going to go or not so I don't care that much but a lot of people in my office are now losing their collective minds. You'd think that they'd just announced that they were going to stop paying people, that's how much overreacting I'm hearing.

Really they're losing they're minds? Man office parties suck (ok the before last one didn't) in general anyway. At that point just invite the people you want over with a BYOB policy.

Canada seems to have gone way overboard with all this vaccination crap. Have any other countries even bothered? They realise it's not dangerous unless you're really old, really young, or pregnant, right?

Oh you have no idea how much fun the media is having fear mongering right now.
It's hilarious.
In Québec they managed to scare everyone by saying the vaccine was dangerous.
Then a bunch of little kids get sick.
Everyone runs for the vaccine scared shitless of the virus.
Now waiting lines are 10 hours long.

Heh...you're forgetting the fact that Quebec (where I live) changes their vaccination schedule like every 4 hours! ;) At this rate it'd be my turn sometime in oh...January. Assuming I decide to get vaccinated in the first place.

And yes, these coworkers of mine are upset to the point that they're emailing Human Resources! Who knew that a Christmas party meant so much? I personally could care less but I have to admit that I'm baffled by the reaction.

Stupid work. Going away for the weekend and have to take my laptop to work on the journey rather than immerse myself in DoD. All because some fucker has made something more difficult than it needs to be and is pressuring me to fix it. I hate the pecking order. One day I hope to not have to suck up to anybody. (never gonna happen!) ;)

I know I live here to, and it's the headlines each day, everything gets changed around.
I still find it hilarious.

Man you have some bizarre coworkers. Maybe they want to get the CEO drunk or something.

I like The X Factor way way way waaaaaaaay too much. I was clinging to the hope that it was in an ironic way but no, I just love it. Terrance and Philip ftw.

Had the worst hangover in the known universe. First 24 hour hangover of my life. Was so bad I begin to worry about my liver and kidney function.

24hours?! That's nothing. Wait until you have your first 72hour hangover where the third day is normal hangover and the preceding 2 days are full of sickness, mild organ failure and crushing depression!

I'm sure you'll all be pleased to find out I drank through my hangoverand now feel like God's cock. That's the way I roll bitches.

X factor result was rather disappointing, I thought Lucie was pretty fit, for a lass 11 years younger than mw!

....christmas stuff on shop shelves,* replacing the normal stuff you actually went in to buy. Which you now can't get, until that gap just after christmas before all the easter stuff appears.

Humbug seconded!

* Including all sorts of christmas food that has expiry dates of mid November

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

The only good thing about that is that you can get mincepies already. My opinion of mince pies is similar to Mezla's in respect to scotch eggs.
