I hope so, otherwise there will be a new bachelor in Barnsley. Perhaps his licence plate was 1JKM N0P?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

New Bachelor in Barnsley is my favorite The Smiths b-side.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

It's better in the original Klingon.

Wait, is your car called Noel?!

Noel as in Christmas. But yes, because she is azure. It is an extremely niche joke.

Having a shit time at work. I work in an environment where we have to work with our competitors a little bit. I appealed to everyone's better nature to hold off on fighting each other for a load of cash and collectively bargain with the powers that be for a better solution. I failed miserably and now I have to get down into the dirt with them all. God damned capitalism. At least I tried I suppose.

That's no way to talk about Maark's dialect.

Centrica, who own British Gas, reporting profits that have tripled.

If cost of wholesale had risen to the point that they needed to up prices, their profits would not have tripled.

No party attempting to oppose the rampant corporatism that is squeezing everyone constantly all the time. No hope. Only despair.

That sucks man. Have they developed a Prisoner's Dilemma model for when all the information is out in the open but like half the prisoners are dumbasses?

Profits need to be regulated such that they may be healthy, but never obscene. Bring in a super profit tax as well.

Never gonna happen as long as there are conversative governments. They only care about profits. Most of them probably have shares or consultancy roles at these companies.

I'm just amazed that the country is taking it like it is. The French would have gone ballistic years ago.

If this were the old days, I'd suggest going drinking with them individually or in small groups and seeing if that breaks through the short term mentality.

It's rough to have to get gully, but I believe in your ability to do so.

The money people in my organisation are now making it clear they want me down in the dirt fast. Which is shit but I saw it coming so am not fighting it. The train has left the station. I have a new colleague, he hasn't read the terrain and has made a strategic error in taking someone on quite senior to both of us. You know those days when you watch the emails come in and wince?

The email wincing thing is fortunately not a daily occurrence here, but I do have a co-worker who seemingly can't *not* be rude to people which makes that phenomenon happen much more often than it should.

It's such a delight when getting gully works out well though. I went that way once so far and it got us a hypothetical budget drop of $60 million for a proposal we have in the works.

Bruce Willis diagnosed with FTD (Frontotemperal dementia) that has progressed since his Aphasia diagnosis in 2022...

As someone whose wife worked with many people who suffered from this, it's brutal and cruel to the individual and the family and friends around them....and for all intents and purposes the Bruce we all publicly knew is already gone...even if his body is not gone yet.

Super sad.
