Fuckin' hell there is so much smoke haze here. Driving over rattlesnake ridge you could see it just blanketing the area. The mountains looked like they were semi-obscured by mist, except it's fucking smoke.

I would hate to be evacuated and deal with this shit during a pandemic.

Yeah, puts a perspective of my bitching about the weather here when you guys are getting hammered with proper storms.

That said, the rain really needs to fuck off for a few weeks so we can get the driving range finished

Most of my neighbors are staying. Not evacuating with my very old big dog with his bum leg and Corona shit. Just need my ex to get the kids up to north LoUiSiAna and I ll calm down a lot. Gonna be in for the ride of my life looks like at present and I won’t be able to take my ambien with a night hit. Been through these things before but I’m fucking nervous as hell with this one. Think we are in for another landscape changer like Rita in 2005. Hope none of these monster trees that survived that bitch wind up cutting this house to bits.

Might even smoke some of my sisters weed to try and cut some jitters so I know I’m sweating if I’m considering that nasty shit.

Just made insurance videos/pics.

I've been thinking about you having to possibly deal with 2 storms within days since Laura's track shifted off Florida into the central Gulf. Reminds me of '04 when we had 4 or 5 majors, starting with Charlie going right over my house. Be safe man. I've always found the decision of whether to evacuate or not agonizing. Not sure if you're below actual sea level or not but major flooding is something we in particular haven't really had to contend with, thankfully.

We going to my brother in Houston. 3 hr drive probably gonna take 6 ugh

That may be best if you're looking at a Cat 3, or more, direct hit. Fingers crossed for you and yours. 6 weeks (or thereabouts) of the gauntlet to go.

On the edge. Lake Charles is fucked. Hope we got a home to go back to in 24-36 hrs. My god I’m so stressed out.... entire body is aching from it.

Just got to brothers house about 20 minutes ago. Fucking nightmare. We definitely still going to get wind here.

Would a hangout help tonight? Just to have some company watching with you?

Smashed the toenail on my big toe this morning while wearing bedroom slippers. Was moving some brick bordering my shrubs to get at some weeds and whack! right on the sweet spot of the toenail with nothing but bedroom slippers as protection. Looking at the nail this evening, it is turning black and I'm gonna lose it, as sure as I am typing this groove messed with post. FML.

I'm so very happy I live in a somewhat-natural disaster free area of the world, except the occasional flood.

Not a dent. No idea on the total destruction angle..water probably all up in that bitch so I’m sure we ll have some gutted rooms. It sliced the edge of the house off on south side

That all kinds of fucked up. Really hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Well shit. I looked at my big toe again and I noticed my "fuck you toe" next to it (the middle toe :<) looks like it took some damage too. My big toe was making me squeal like pig because it hurt so much that I didn't even notice the middle. I guess it was in the splash zone of the brick damage. I hope the nail on that will be ok. Losing my big toenail is going to have me feeling ashamed. If my fuck you toe has to go toenail naked that will be too much and I will require therapy.

That's shit BK, damn. :(
How's your insurance?

Is your place anywhere near the chemical plant? Apparently there was a leak and now it's affecting the Interstate 10 highway. There was something about a fire as well. Fuuuuuuck.

Well scratch that. Just talked to the neighbor and the hood is bombed out like Hurricane Rita which was still a war zone after a month had passed. I'm fucking stuck here for now. I'm just sitting here at war with myself. And fuck this Houston city living/ass fuck driving/expensive bullshit.

If I'm here for long I'm a have to scope out the lay of the land BK style and hope I don't have to dive out of any of these 2-3 story windows at some point.

I'm really sorry to hear that BK. Being displaced is not a fun experience.

If it's going black due to a hematoma, putting a hole in the nail helps the pain.

I did this once by poking a hole in the mail with a hot needle. Really felt better - but that's only if there's blood pooling under there.

If it's just hurting, it might be broken or needs time to settle.

Buddy taping helped me with the broken toes.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.
