No but when my nephew said he was scared of ghosts (he is 3) I told him Maggie eats ghosts. Now he says he eats ghosts too and amazingly he seems cured. The mind of a 3 year is a bizarre thing

Cue one of my favoritest things the late David Gemmell ever wrote... the whole thing is here https://www.reddit.c...ls_inspiration/
...but this is the key bit...

Quote

My mother had tried explaining to me they were just dreams. They weren't real. It didn't work. She took me to a child psychologist, who showed me pictures, told me stories, explained about the birth of myth and the way that fear created pictures in our night time thoughts. It was very interesting, but it did nothing for my nightmares.

One night I woke up screaming - to find Bill sitting by my bedside.

'There's a vampire, dad. Its trying to get me.'

'I know, son,' he said, softly. 'I saw it.'

'You saw it?'

'Yeah. I broke its bloody neck. I won't have no vampires in my house'

I never dreamt of vampires again.

That's lovely. I forget - was it sort of all but stated that Druss is a version of his step dad Bill?

Was going down the stairs at Union Station and landed on the outside edge of my left foot. Thought it was a full break, after seeing an orthopedist it is a fracture and a couple of pulled ligimements. I can wear a boot. Still a all around pain.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Has someone swapped user names and avatars again? I could have sworn that was a Ment post.

Actually, not quite a Ment post - no sport or alcohol involved. That we know of.

At night when I go to bed I let my two beagles sleep on my beg as well. They generally love it. My female Maggie loves to get under the duvet but stay above the blanket and then use my leg as a pillow and she quickly starts snoring. My other beagle, Mingo, for some reason has started to become extremely restless at night and he wont settle. He walks over me, he walks over Maggie who has started to growl at him when he gets near because she is trying to sleep. He sniffs everything in my room. I don't know why his behavious has suddently changed and its not evey night but maybe 1 in 3. If he wont settle, eventually I have to kick him out. Then Maggie feels left out and follows us and she has to get kicked out too.

I don't know whats caused the change but its messing with my sleep

A more serious response. Assuming you've made no other big changes in your house lately, like buying a new bed, do you change your bedlinen, pillow case, etc. regularly? Could be some contamination of the bed.

Or maybe the dog is reacting to your emotional state? Are you very stressed lately? Arguing? etc. Animals can be sensitive to their owners behavior.

Its a beagle, so it likes to sniff everything always but I don't think so. Nothing is new, I'm not sressed. The female quickly gets comfortable and falls asleep. I think he might want food or he just gets excited when I let him in my room and then doesn't want to sleep but wants to play.

Still no BK.

I hope he's just really busy or something. He doesn't usually drop off the radar.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

At a guess, he's busy, his internet access is wonky, he hasn't bothered to post after a long break but will eventually, and he's reading this right now before heading off to make sex in a pickup truck somewhere.

Saw Halloween decorations already laid out at my nearest grocery store chain (it's only mid-August for crap's sake!). I'm anticipating I'll see Christmas decorations about mid-September. *le-sigh Posted Image

We've really, full-on, have become a consumerist/commercialism, buy it and toss it, throw away society, haven't we?

This wouldn't be a thing if Frosh Week had better marketing.

While we were potty training my kid he got to watch tv for every poo he did in his potty. Four months later and after he became a tv addict after my surgery, we have removed the tv incentive and the little bastard is getting his revenge by crapping in random places. I was just doing some gardening after putting him to bed and came across a huge human turd by my courgettes.

Ah man that reminds me.

Last week some monster took a stealth shit on the stairs in the middle of our library. This is in the middle of a big open 4 level space, between the floor where our adult section is and the citizen service center.

How? Why? How didn't anybody see this!?! Imagine walking up the stairs in your work place and coming across that?

And then some joker had taken a marker and drawn a circle around it with an arrow pointed at it saying poop.

I hate people.

I left him playing outside while I cooked dinner last night and while we were eating he said "I did a poo outside" and then denied it when I asked him to clarify. So I'm going to go with....yes! Or my other half as a problem. Or someone is climbing 6ft fences into an enclosed back garden to take a dump while admiring my vegetable patch. Hmmm not sure which seems most likely.

I took him to the cinema for the first time today. I love the cinema so I was hoping to gently instill a life long shared interest. The local cinema does a weekend kids club for £1.75 a ticket. The Incredibles 2 was on. I don't remember the original film except that it is alright. I assumed it would be suitable for a 3 year old. Yeah. I'm going to check film classifications more closely in future. Although I guess even that wouldn't have helped me predict that he would be terrified by a raccoon. Now if you ask him if he likes the cinema he gets upset and says "I don't like raccoons."
