Really frustrated and bummed out today. Have a new job lined up that should have started this September but due to an administrative cock-up, I may have so wait till October to start. Which is a financial problem especially when you have payments to the ex, etc. And they want me to fill out applications with hundreds of dollars in fees in the meantime. Fuck medicine.

At the ER with my dog who has chronic kidney failure. This might be end game. She’s only 9. Went out to take her to the vet this morning and someone broke into my car. All they took was a change cup and my insulated water mug but it’s the point.

Where the heck is BK?

I don't know, as soon as I want to ask him something and he disappears.

I hope he's not had any more.. trouble.. in his truck.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Does this reference the pleurisy attack, or the truck sex?

Either way. I hope he's doing okay.

That feeling when you go to cash your check, and the teller tells your your boss put the wrong date on it.

It's not the end of the world (I generally try to keep several month's worth in my account), but it's annoying, because this isn't the first time it's happened.

Because old fashioned bosses don't believe in direct deposit.

I generally don't mind, it's another reason to get out of the house and walk the 10-15 min to my bank branch; but things like this are annoying.

Generally good long weekend. Went to the beach yesterday, then chilled at a friend's place and got drunk by the bonfire. Got home sensibly early today and had plenty of time to deal with the hangover and pack for my work trip tomorrow.

However, as I was getting ready to go to bed last night, I noticed a a deep gash from the base of my left thumb about halfway to the wrist. Naturally, being hammered I didn't really question it, just treated it with antiseptic (Iodine) and wrapped it up in gauze and taped it, and then went to bed. Today, however, I'm left wondering where the hell it came from. it's wide (about 2 mm) and I probably needed to get it stitched up last night, but obviously neither I, nor any of my friends were in any condition to take a trip to emerg, so I'm not trying to blame anyone.

It's really just the fact that I can't for the life of me figure out how I got this cut that's annoying. Also it means I won't be able to swim for at least a week or however long it takes it to heal without stitches.

You probably gashed it by accidentally rubbing it against something sharp.

I have scar on my left wrist where I rubbed it on an iron pole and there was a sharp bur poking out. Didn't even feel it when it happened, only noticed when the blood started falling.

That's it, we need to stage an intervention for your own good.

From that location, I would bet decent cash this was from opening a can of beer too enthusiastically. And applaud your dedication to party.

Blacked out an entire fencing tournament.

No, as far as I know. I also generally have good recall of what I do when drunk- though I often may not care about what I do at the time.

I think it might've happened when we were pulling the hot tub cover back on. I have a high pain threshold, so me not noticing random injuries is not that outlandish. I also misses the stairs and put that hand on the deck edge to steady myself- quite possible the edges were somewhat sharp.

@ abyss- if I mess up a beer top, it's usually my fingertips that get the cuts, not the palm.
