We have a US office and I'm always really shocked when people just go! Even if they work their 2 weeks it's so fast. In the UK we have to give 1 to 3 months notice. 3 months is a pain in the arse when you want to move on.

I'm still quite deaf in one ear. Have to go to hospital next week because apparently that isn't normal. The upshot is that I have been sleeping very well because I typically lie on my good ear and so can't hear a thing.

Yeah, I'm totally ok with 2 weeks. During those rare times that they actually give one. I'm also a believer in "short-timers" syndrome. As long as you are a physical body helping customers, I really don't care what else you do during the last two weeks. Just fucking show up. I really don't understand how people can just walk off, especially when they don't have anything else lined up.
