I ll never forget the day my older brother came in my room and slapped this strange magazine down on my bed....

In context, this reads ew.

LOL

My comment would have been about how my "dad's stack of magazines hidden within his tennis magazines..." will never be the same.

I think I overdid it at the gym today somewhat. And I'm already trying to go slow, 'cause of that pesky new asthma and I only started gym again three months ago. Everything was going great, then when I was done BAM!, surprise asthma. What made it doubly annoying was this woman in the dressing room who wouldn't stop blabbing on her phone the entire 15 minutes I was in there waiting for the cortisone to work (und trying to concentrate on breathing im amd out with that incredibly annoying noise behind me) and getting my stuff together. Like, if you want to gossip, why do it at the gym? On the phone? Guess that's one of those things I'll never understand. Anyway, lesson learned, need to go even slower. Meh.

Asthma and its related issues is certainly not a first world problem. I have been where you were, and it is not fun at all.

I want to break my iPhone 7+. This new update 11 is stupid. My screen goes dim every time I leave my phone inactive and my scroll is ultra super duper extra sensitive to the touch. I'm zipping to much while reading and losing my place and can't see in the settings if I can desensitize it.

1st world problems right.

3 days in a row also of my leg throbbing extra hard. Been going to bed early cause oblivion has been my only relief. Passed on sex. Passed on going to help move some stuff at my aunts house. Passed on going to see our new park.

Fuck you leg. Fuck you iphone.

Screen dimming is probably a battery saving feature, anything you can do about it in the Settings?

Shooter in Vegas at Mandalay Bay casino. It was at an outdoor concert, and videos have the sounds of automatic weapons. Don't click on this if you don't wanna hear that or see people in danger/fear: https://twitter.com/...738099887861760 (though nothing graphic happens, it just looks and sounds terrifying).

According to Reuters, 2 known dead, 24 wounded: https://twitter.com/...742718345117696
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Just heard of this.

WTF that sounds like a machinegun. Like a beltfed machinegun, not a 3 round burst from an assault rifle. This is going to be very bloody.

Any word on the suspects?

Edit: If true this is horrific - 70 wounded

It's dueling in my head that this is such awful news, and tragic and painful for a lot of people, and also that it's going to suck all the air and attention and momentum away from the huge humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico. Like I don't mean from regular people, I mean like media and the government and of course the president himself. I'm hoping for better, of course, I just don't have that much hope available, quantitatively.

A lot is going to depend on the identity of the perpetrators. If its ISIS then Trump is going to never ever shut up about this and it could be a turning point for him. If however it isn't, things are going to get very very messy.

Either way, Puerto Rico is going to lose the media spotlight.

Shit. That was pretty well thought out.

Up high, no cover for the festival goers, most of whom wouldn't have known where the fire was coming from for ages, if at all.
Would have taken a while for cops etc to get up there.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out the shooter waited until an opportune point in the show to commence firing.

Cue some twit asserting if only everyone in the crowd had a hunting/sniper rifle with night vision scope on them and appropriate training ... :no

@Tattersail_

Ummm ... the recovery effort after 2 hurricanes, and the behaviour of Trump ... :)

Don't hear much over here, thought a lot of places were affected by the hurricanes?

Most of those places aren't populated almost exclusively by american citizens with an unfortunate skin colour.

My mother's best friend (since she was in her teens), and a close, close family friend died over the weekend as the result of a botched colonoscopy that accidentally clipped her colon open, and caused an internal infection that no one caught (they sent her home...her husband noticed that she was still really unwell and took her back to the same hospital [who refused to readmit her], so he took her to a different one where they found out that the scope had done damage to her colon. She was on a respirator for a week, and passed away Saturday.

I can't believe she's gone so young (only in her early 60's). She was like a second mother to me when I was growing up, we visited their place so frequently. She was a wonderfully sweet Swiss-accented woman. I miss her a lot. My mother is beside herself and I've been crying on and off since yesterday.

This is a mere two years after they lost their daughter (who is my sister's age) to Lupus.

Anyways. It fucking sucks.

Prayers for the deceased, condolences to QT.

This seems small by comparison, but still:

Sore all over. 2 days of back to back soccer (outdoor play-offs on Sat, and a regular indoor league game on Sun). Plus, Saturday evening was a friend's birthday, we went bowling, and later played like an hour of air hockey. And yesterday I woke up too hungover and lethargic to do proper stretching, so the soreness is still there.

Really need to go for a swim tonight, otherwise this is gonna carry on for the rest of the week.

50+ dead, 400+ injured.

And not the slightest idea why.

Holy shit.

ISIS claimed responsibility saying he was converted.. early reports state he did not own guns, unregistered guns.. or cartel bought? It sounds like a slidelock AR actually.

Obviously the narrative is early , but saying he recently married a indoasian wife and converted to Muslim... that’s nuts.

My buddies reported back safe they were on the other side of the strip and waiting to hear from another person..scary stuff

(Obviously the first day stuff is usually nonsense so wait and see)

Yeah, I don't know that there is anything they can do (we will see if her husband or son wants to pursue such things)...but it's a pretty messed up situation.

Don't buy into scare tactics bullshit you read, or when ISIS claims responsibility for shit they clearly didn't have a hand in (to try to get people to be more frightened of them, they claim to be responsible for EVERYTHING on American soil). None of the rest is accurate. They don't know why this white guy from Mesquite, Nevada did this, and there is no proof he's connected to them. His brother confirmed he own a few hand guns and a rifle...and didn't know about the Auto's he clearly used. There is no information that he married anyone, let alone someone who converted him to radical islam. He did have seemingly a 64 year old Australian girlfriend originally from Queensland who is white as white, and is apparently not a suspect.

He CAN, however, be a white guy terrorist unassociated with a known terrorist organization who opened fire on a public event, and then cowardly took his own life before the cops could bust into his room. He can totally be that.
