You know you have quite a few rights in these instances, right? The EU is pretty good on consumer protection.

A few days ago my son asked me to make him a costume.

But not just any costume.

He wants me to make him a hagfish costume.

Hagfish.

HAGFISH.

Firstly, the kid is super weird. Secondly, I've NO IDEA where to even begin. I've been racking my brain for days and haven't come up with a thing.

HAGFISH.

He probably meant Hagrid. That's what he said and you should stick to it :p

That would be a lot easier...

Unfortunately, when he said he wanted me to make him a hagfish costume I made the mistake of asking him what a hagfish was - "You know? A slime eel!" Posted Image

You want a hat with a hoop on it - above the kid's head and perpendicular to the floor - and some fabric to go outside the framework and drape down to his waist or so, with sleeves. The kid's face will be a cut-out in the middle of the neck. The hat can be a beanie with wire framing and the teeth can be felt teeth. He'll be able to walk up to something and "glom" onto it, but not wear something heavy or difficult to get in/out of.

Here's a picture I drew to show you what I'm envisioning:

You know that a hagfish is not the same thing as a hoodie-wearing ghosty being from Spirited Away, right?
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

That's not a bad suggestion, cheers. Though I'm not sure how the 'face' would be made exactly. Also, there needs to be a 'slimy'/'wriggly' aspect, I think.

Hybrid!

For reference, this is what a hagfish looks like.

I mean, I'm happy my son wants to dress-up as some sort of Hell-worm but jesus....

Considering they produce buckets of slime, can't you just buy a few tubs of that putty ooze stuff from a toy shop and just pour it over him? And then stick some dracula teeth somewhere in the middle of it.

PS: not meaning to alarm you, but boy, your son is messed up.

@Loki

I think it's an Octonauts thing:

Season 1, Ep 38

http://octonauts.wik...m/wiki/Episodes
"Fortune favors the bold, though statistics favor the cautious." - Indomitable Courteous (Icy) Fist, The Palace Job - Patrick Weekes

"Well well well ... if it ain't The Invisible C**t." - Billy Butcher, The Boys

"I have strong views about not tempting providence and, as a wise man once said, the difference between luck and a wheelbarrow is, luck doesn’t work if you push it." - Colonel Orhan, Sixteen Ways to Defend a Walled City - KJ Parker

The collateral damage to his surrounding environment would be astronomical. If we had a proper yard it might have been an option though.

I think you might be half-right. He hasn't watched Octonauts in months but he does have an Octonauts educational game about the ocean. I just looked at it and it has a slime eel but I couldn't find anything that referred to it as a hagfish though. But it seems the likely culprit. That, or one of the documentaries I let play in the background while he is playing in the lounge.

Do you have any authority to make changes at all?

Nope. Just trying to keep my head down and get work done.

Even if no one actually knows what the work is
