Yes, but mine is definitively caused by hay fever. It was just a question of WHEN I would get it, not if, and I got checked last year already, but the test was inconclusive so my doc dumped a bunch of information on me and told me to come back should I feel worse/have more clear symptoms. Hence my joke about the internet. With hay fever season starting over two months too early this year, courtesy of climate change, I'm not really surprised.

It may not necessarily be asthma though. When I had a particularly severe allergy bout last year, I had extreme shortness of breath for around 20-30 minutes, followed by shallow breath and wheezing for the rest of the day. It went away though.

Could be. As usual, my visit to the doctor's has - predictably - been inconclusive today. Am probably going to look into changing doctors again; a kingdom for a doc who actually talks to me instead of just handing out prescriptions. Fortunately, my health insurance doesn't mind me changing doctors unless they're therapists, where I'm stuck with my crap one.

Thanks you 3. I wasn't there but he told me the Dr seemed confident he got it but idk if old man is keeping me in the dark about anything to keep my nerves in check atm. We went through 6 months of hell with my mom for her 2nd time with it which is why I'm so keyed up now. This type comes back and it's not listed as the deadliest type for nothing. 25 yrs passed between her 2 times with it. Sigh

Oh man, you have all my support BK. That's a horrible thing for you all to go through. Hope they got it all and he's okay.

I've almost certainly broken my hand a few days ago by pulling on a choke wrong and made it worse today by wrestling someone 90 lbs/40 kg heavier than me, then punching him a few times.

At least I mostly won the sparring matches, but this might mean wearing a cast for a while.

Sleep training the little one (for both nighttime and naps during the day), over the long weekend...and the first two nights went rather well...she only cried at MOST for about an 8-9 minute go, and then quieted and put herself to sleep. And we thought "Oh great, she's doing well!"....yeah, she was saving the real trying stuff for night #3. LOL. She woke up 5 times last night and I had to go in and calm her at least 6 or so intervals. Phew! It's hard to listen to her cry, but so far it DOES appear to be working (for her nap this morn, my wife says she went to sleep in 2 minutes)...the reason it's in the "Groove" thread? I'm on very little sleep today. Zombie-Work-Mode.

Its been a long journey but after hitting a dead end with my PhD 2 years ago, I switched projects and switched supervisors and everything went so smoothly. Until my ex supervisor decided to get involved. He is superior to my current supervisor in the heirarchy and demands to read my thesis and scientific papers before I can submit. He created endless, unnecessary and fruitless delays. Takes him months to provide feedback along the lines of pointing out 3 grammar mistakes in a 8000 word document!

More recently when my supervisor demanded he provide his feedback, on revisions I have made to a scientific paper (accepted subject to revision) so I could make my deadline he sent a snarky email to me and my supervisor saying a deadline was no excuse for me not to make the revisions properly. He proceeded in his email to angrily shit on me for not responding to certain reviewer comments. Comments which are not for my paper! No idea where he found them. He wanted me to send him a document listing each comment and my response. A document clearly attached to the previous email I sent him. At this point I consider these delays to be sabotage. My supervisor finally said I could submit without waiting any longer for him.

Without his 'guidance' I would have submitted at least 4 months ago.

A few weeks ago the upstairs on my rental flooded due to the toilet overflowing and running all night. I reported it to my landlord who sent someone out to fix the toilet and rip out the floors (yes it was that bad) and just got a letter from his lawyer demanding that I pay 6k in repairs or I will be evicted.

This year already sucks.

Uh, how is any of what happened your fault? Did you push the button on the toilet and leave a brick on it? What does your lease say?

Oh right, I forgot - 'alternate facts'. Silly me. :D

Trump and every arsehole who voted for him for whatever self-serving reason they like to cling to. You voted for ALL of his policies, not just the few you claim you voted for.

Feeling generally trampled after yesterday's game. Besides having multiple scrapes. Including one the size of a toonie right under my knee), and I also got tangled with a few players with my right (recovering) arm. Been getting some annoying and not usual pains in it, hoping this doesn't turn into a setback.

Saw your earlier post in mafia about this and I immediately though of your arm. Hope you haven't reinjured it. Does your doctor recommend cold compresses?

I have not seen my specialist for 6 weeks (actually my follow up is on Mon). Last time I saw him, he was happy with my progress, and that was about it.

I've also somehow neglected to get my FD (or GP, as you may call them) involved in this whole process. Largely because of the schedule incompatibilities.

So it's basically my Physio who oversees the process. And I'm kinda plateauing, and I just need to keep exercising and stretching to reliably regain the last 5-6 degrees of my range of motion.

Got up to get a drink and popped my head into Rip's room to check on him and totally freaked when I saw his bed was emptied. He had climbed out of his bed (it's a pirate ship so it has sides on it), rolled or crawled a ways, and ended up against the wall behind his massive bean bag.

I am having one of those days where I simply always say the wrong thing - I don't even know why, its like my brain got disconnected from my mouth.

Monsters in monster movies are metaphors for people and situations that cause intense emotions of one kind or another, and that can be legitimately scary. Sounds like a compliment to me.
