It was 7 degrees in the morning. Now it's like 12-14. It's still goddamn August! This means sitting at the office with room temperatur of something like 15-17 degrees, as the heating won't be on for some time and the walls aren't well insulated at all... so, pretty cold.
Also, slightly hungover.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Agreed with this, what the fuck is up with this shit August and summer really. Everytime we have tried to have a BBQ, its been overcast, cold and raining. Its shit. But i suppose, this is England and something I have to live with, could be worse n all that, but god damn if i have to wear a fuckin coat in AUGUST!?:) :)

Just to clarify, you have 12-14 degree Centigrade temperature in August in England? At the moment its 31 here in Kolkata and as days go we are agreeing its pretty moderate. Oh well, have fun!Posted Image

it was 34 degrees here only like 3-4 weeks ago. Then BOOM it went to sub-20 and raining and it's getting worse. game over, man. GAME OVER!

I'm spending most of my time playing Heroes of Might and Magic 2 (yes, two) and reading this forum instead of doing actual work. A side project I've been working on is put on hold while I'm raising skeletons. I know its lame, and yet I can't stop playing.

The Ice Bucket Challenge really won't die will it!? I got nominated by someone who clearly doesn't know me very well because anybody who does would not expect me to be into this shit. I'm not doing it and I'm not giving money to charity just to look popular. That's not the bit messing with my groove however. It has filled my FB feed for days which has been mildly irritating but now my friends children are getting nominated so my feed is full of toddlers who don't know what they're doing being doused in not very cold water. Jesus H Christ, just fuck off!!! Or at least douse your child with ice cold water so I can watch them cry afterwards.

The stupid thing in this country is that they're not even giving money to ALS - it's Macmillan. A worthy charity but talk about following a fad just to look popular. I don't mind watching super rich celebrities showing off their sunny Californian gardens and pools, expensive swimwear and equally expensive bodies - it's why they exist. But a bunch of Brits in their crappy back gardens (some of whom use it to show off that they still look good in a bikini) and after the weather has turned so it's unpleasant outside without long sleeves on..... Just give me a break!

The fact that people have to be conned into donating to worthy causes by schadenfreude, added to Macmillan actually buying 'ice bucket challenge' with Google Adwords so their name is the top search link is kinda depressing, true, but people will take any excuse to be silly, Captain Grumpypants. Me, I'm gonna do one cause it'll be funny and my brother would enjoy throwing a bucket of icy water into my face after the week he's had, so I'm helping out everybody! Also I kinda got a new job so I can afford some charity stuff too. Give it a week and people will be back to the proper levels of funhaving and monotonous drudgery of Tory-run modern life before you know it.

Getting a brand new Concept 2 Rowing machine delivered and then rolling and twisting your ankle the worst anybody has ever seen, thus preventing use of said machine really messes with my groove. It also prevented me from properly joining in with wedding festivities as the pure agony of standing up kind of grates on you after 10 hours have passed...fucking training injuries :rolleyes: . Heres hoping its functional for October 5th, ready for a mud run! Like a 10km ice bucket challenge with mud, will be shitting myself when I am on the way there!:)

This bloody flu won't go away after more than 2 weeks. All 4 of us have had it. I'm still get nasty coughing fits. To add to the festivities I woke up this morning with goop in my eye (and yet Illy wasn't in the vicinity - that I know of), which keeps coming back after I wipe it away. Probably conjunctivitis knowing the way my health has been this year.

The CDC would probably shit themselves if they went into your average day care centre.

Ah well, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. :rolleyes:

Being on call (basically page-able for any pathology problems overnight) sucks, especially when the kids are sick, the dog poops on the stairs, and I have to go into the hospital on Saturday...

Had a silent fight this morning with the gf. Let's just say that she once again did one thing that's painful and annoying to me despite me asking her not to do that shit without at least asking or letting me know. So I raised my voice for one sentence telling her to stop. She got offended and left without a word.

The waiting game for getting out exchange and completion dates. I'm sure it's because I know we're moving soon, but every little thing about living in a block of flats has become amplified in the last few weeks. Someone in the building routinely kills the bandwidth at all hours of the day (it's taken me nearly ten minutes ot load Malazan Empire) and there's just so much noise since the walls are like paper.

Minor moaning really, but I really am ready to get out and into our house!
