Actually Mal now that I'm horribly unemployed again I have time to do more reading! What was that one author you suggested I look into again? I can check out his books once I finish Assail.

So, maybe I've said a few things about my job to some friends some time back, after a few drinks. Nothing solid, nothing damning, just some harmless chatter. Or so I thought.

Turns out that has mutated and spread somehow and the strangest gossip is starting to reach some of the other employees about what they heard about the company.

I'm guessing I put way too much faith into my so-called "friends". Why do I even bother with people?
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. A couple of weekends ago I had conjunctivitis in my right eye. Well just now (0530-ish on a Saturday) I awoke with the usual old man's need to drain the bladder at stupid hours, and discovered it had laid low for 2 weeks, then up and migrated to my left eye. Good thing I have the prescribed eye drops and hospital-grade handwash stuff left over from last time which is getting another workout.

Fan-fucking-tastic. I don't know what deity's sacred animal I ate or ran over, but feel free to stop now. :p

Updates, adware, more updates, shitty pop ups even with Adblock - it's almost impossible to do anything on the thing anymore.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Past 10pm, got home from work, no food in the house. And I don't mean anything cooked, there's not even anything I can stick into the microwave. I thought my mom had been grocery shopping, but apparently that means we've got bread and chocolate these days.. And THEN she complains it's bad for her diabetes, graaah :p
