The DUI/DWI penalties, jail time, permanent record status and overall price tags are pretty high. Yet people still do it because the American way of life in most cities is so strongly built around driving a car that it's just sher force if habit and massive ego to think that they won't get caught or get in a collision.

I know that the European penalties are usually higher, but it's not like it's a simple pat on the wrist and everybody goes on with their lives.

Also, doesn't much of the US still just use "sobriety tests" for drink drivers? Pretty sure some states have switched to breathalisers, but I thought the majority of roadside checks were still the dodgy "can you do this" sort?

It's a really weird process and laws actually vary state by state, including what kind of field tests are utilized (for instance just this year, Pennsylvania state police deliberately stopped using the breathalyzer, after its accuracy was questioned at the state court level; but that means presumably there will be more arrests made of suspected drunk drivers, who will then have to do the blood or urine test at the station). Penalties also vary, but they tend towards suspended licenses and such before it ever gets to serious jail time.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Fight with a friend. Wont reply to my messages. Then my car broke down during the week.

Not the best week I have had.

A friend of mine's hair has been falling out in clumps, and she's waiting on the results of a blood test. I'm worried.

There is a ton of stuff to do work to do and I have absolutely no motivation to do it. It doesn't help that we're plagued with monterously good weather. Sun, slight breeze, 17 degrees . This will end very badly.

Sounds like you have a serious weight problem Abyss. Because I'm almost in the 1200lbs club, and I know that it isn't due to muscle being as you've described it hahahaha.

Perocoronitis.

Holy moly, I've been in agony since last Thursday. The anti-biotics are finally kicking in so I don't look like a fat kid with cheeks full of cupcakses anymore. I've lost 8 pounds due to not eating! Good times, good times.

I am always fucking broke! It wouldnt bother so much if my marriage was better and my kids werent so ungrateful. Its not like im lazy, but public radio only pays so much. Sigh. Just getting it off my chest.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Dumped this morning by my wife of many years. (2 years)

I was in this thing for millenia. Its been a rocky road and we just had a very messy seperation.

And now I'd like advice.

Off the rails balls to the walls or should I take the high road and focus on keeping ordered and busy? Not sure I even know how to single??? how soon is too soon to get back out there?

Ordered and Busy my man. You just went though a helluva thing, and you don't need to ruin the rest of your life because of one (if major) change. Go be the shufflebot once in a while but don't lose yourself in it. Is there anything you always wanted to do that you couldn't because the wife never wanted to? I mean besides be a billionaire playboy with a harem? Do that.
