The home my family have had since 1984 is now being put up for rent as my parents have moved away. It's sad that I do not have the money to buy the house from them or rent it as I would do so gladly. My brother livesd in Australia, my mum and dad have moved to Oxfordshire, my sister has just landed a job in the Australian police and my other sister has her own house and home. Its sad. If you want a little peak at where I grew up then here you go...

Why would anyone commute from Land's End to John O'Groats? :)

Ha ha, Sombra, so funny :p It's 70mins to go 50miles!

I feel your pain Tattersail. My folks sold the house I grew up in when I was about 20 and it was sooooo sad. You'll be surprised how well you retain the good memories, 11 years later and I can still remember every last inch of the place.

It's sad because its where I will always remember as "home", i've lived many places but no where has come close. The fights, the laughter, the parties, oh the parties!! The love, the special occasions, the warmth. Annie greeting you as you come in, she's a dog and an old one at that. No I know what you mean, it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved before and maybe one day in the future me and the wife to be will have created something just as special!!

Have been searching for a job and handed out a load of C.V.s applied online etc. Was running for the bus earlier all of a sudden the phone goes its a phone interview from Waterstones. Its pouring with rain and im out of breath from running for the bus and completely caught off guard by it. I answered the questions but when I asked about interview times on the firday I got a muttered response about how 'theyre making a shortlist and will contact me'. I dont think I got it as they could barely hear me down the phone through traffic etc and despite the guy on the other end sounding friendly. Such a shame as ive been searchiong for a job, any job, for a while.

Yeah, I feel that. When my grandfather retired, he put his house up on the market (the place where we had Christmas and Thanksgiving and Easter and all the holidays with family), and my parents couldn't let it go. So they scraped together the money for it (really, really, really stretching their credit to the limit to do so), and we kept it. They say it's been worth it.

Mrs Tiste has gone back to parents for a couple of days. I'm happy for her to do that as she needs to see a couple of friends who are having problems atm, but it also means that I am not keeping an eye on the time and I have an extremely early start tomorrow...

There's two kinds: the artsy, subtle, critically respectable kind like James Blake, Burial, etc. It is not good at all. Then there's the other kind, the Wub Wub Wub, Transformers sound stuff, made by Skrillex and the like...its Lowest Common Denominator approach has earned it the nickname "bro-step". This is the kind of stuff you see being applied to everything in "remix" form. It's awful.

So you got the one that's no good and the other that's downright awful but saturates the market. I think that covers it. Sometimes British DJs just likes to create sub sub sub genres of dance music in order to mess with the rest of the world.

Wow I must be getting some bad Karma my way at the moment, second time I felt that I needed to write my feelings down in as many days.

I work in customer service, most customers I speak to are regulars. I've been here about 6 months now, in that time i've learned quite a lot, had a pay rise and have settled in well. I take orders for people, they call I take the order and then that's it. Sometimes i'll call around with special offers too. This particular company have two really nice people working for them, yet they have a son/brother who sometimes calls and doesn't know what he wants to order. I help him as best I can, in fact i've never had a problem with him before, not really. Once a week or so he called and was asking for something but he was unsure what it was, so I asked him a few questions trying to make sure he ordered what he needed rather than something he didn't. He still didn't know and was spouting some gibberish so I said i'd put him on hold and ask around. I go on mute when he is on hold, he doesn't. He called me a name and said that I didn't know what I was doing to one of his colleagues/customers and I heard him. I let it go though, and found out that what he wanted was something we didn't stock. He went away displeased but there's nothing I can do about that.

Today he called and asked for one of the girls that work here, she was on a call but I said to him i'll just check and put him on hold. Out of no where he says (bear in mind I can hear him but he doesn't know), " ****ing hell, i've got that ****ing lad again, **** him off in it lad", when I came back on I said she was on the phone, and then told him I could hear what he said. His response, "And what lad?, and what? everytime I ****ing speak to you, I have to spell things out, I just want to order and get off the phone, not ****ing talk to you and describe what I want, you could make us not use you anymore....." and so on, I forgot the rest. I mentioned it to the office manager and people that work with me and they all made jokes out of him and the manager said he'd have a word with his dad and sister as that's not on so they made me feel better but I was shaking with anger and hurt for quite a while afterwords. So yeah, my groove was tampered with!!

That's pretty shitty. You always have people who think you're psychic and there to obey their every vague whim because they wave a wad of dosh at you. Usually, these are people with little enough appreciation of the notion of service and what it means to customers and providers alike... which usually also means they're not making the decisions that can make or break your profit. Good relationships tend to make smooth runnings possible.

Best thing is to ignore what he says when he thinks he's on mute and not react on it (but that's a bit late now).

When you do act on it, it seldom makes them apologise. They would if they were sitting across the table from you, but since there's a distance and you're only a voice on the phone, they'll press (as he did now): since he already seems to feel empowered by him being a client and paying your company, he will feel he has you by the balls - after all, are you (or your company) going to refuse his money?
This is especially so if your services/ products are non-exclusive.

He doesn't own the business and the manager here will have a word with his dad. We won't take calls from him if he ever speaks like that again. We are a wholesale company so most shops get their goods from us, and to be honest we don't need their business, yet we wouldn't hold the company to account over something the son did anyway. I see what you're saying though.

Mum stabbed me with a fork in the elbow, kitchen accident but took my cardigan off and realised it had punctured the skin and was bleeding, despite me having been wearing three layers. Once we stopped laughing it really hurt like hell.

Serves you right for saying 'stick a fork in me, I'm done'.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I quite enjoy both kinds of Dubstep that Worrywort mentions. The critically acclaimed stuff that Worrywort doesnt like is actually ok as its quite mellow alot of it, like some Massive Attack songs say, and can be listened to in the background. The heavier stuff is designed for dancefloor fillers. Not to get all Hipster but Ive been into Dubstep long enough to kinda get annoyed when I hear the shit that some produce (Borgore Skrillex the known ones because chavs play it really loud in the pimped out Rover Metros) and it colours everyones views.

Having been to a fair few nights specifically dubstep based I have to say I thoroughly enjoy it. I used to hold the view of alot of people who claim 'so yeh, thats just noise' until I went to a really small packed gig and really enjoyed myself. Some heavier stuff is really good and I do like it for the gym and stuff around the house. I suppose I can only explain it by saying that I hate heavy metal, Slayer etc, it all sounds the same. Yet I understand why people enjoy it.Its quite difficult to explain but its definitely taking on a life of its own now that people are trying to make alot of money off it.

First is a very funny interpretation and the second is a decent Dubstep track

Dubstep always seems to be the bizarre three-way love child of Drum 'n' Bass (Jungle), Trip-Hop, and Funk.

I'm a huge Trip Hop fan, and have enjoyed my share of Drum N Bass, but I doubt I could more than just accept Dubstep. Not my bag, but like tiam said, I totally get why people dig it.

I actually just went ultra-harsh for the hell of it. I dislike dubstep but not to the degree that I care if anyone is listening to it. I do think the bro-step stuff is pretty silly all around, but oh well. That Mt. Eden track is actually one example of a dubstep remix I like (uh, the only example, maybe) but that might be because I like the original track a lot already. But it's actually more tasteful than others too. I also don't mind when some of its touchstones appear in other pop songs -- I think Robyn had some dubsteppy moments on Body Talk, but they were integrated into other things. Anyway, yah, I think it sucks, but I don't expect that to have any ramifications outside my own choices.

Guuuurk I feel so fatigued for some reason. And I have my Literatur exam today at 3 till 5.

Is there a way to temporarily cure it? Even if it means I get even more tired later...?

Ok, rotation itself, so far ok. Length of time spent in "ok" = really sucky.

woke up at 4 am, left at 5 am, just got home at 7:30 pm. 14+ hour day with, maybe, 30 min lunch break (that's it).

I know many of you have had a lot worse, but it really sucks to be gone from a wife and kid that long as well (with hw at home to boot).
