One of the most common causes for partial heterochromia in both eyes is heavy metal poisoning. You can even get purple bands around the iris ;) I mean sure you have poisoning but at least you look cool :)

Ugh, so we have this friend, and he's okay in small doses...but when he gets a bit of alcohol in him he gets...err...gropey...so last night at the party, by about 1AM he was sitting in the couch with his arm around my gf...and I'm on the same couch.

Side bar: At one New Years Eve party we had he was hitting on our younger friend (in her 20's, and he's 30) and by about midnight he had his arm round her neck and his hand down her top cupping her breast as he talked to people...seriously.

Back to main story of last night: Now normally when people put their arm around my gf it doesn't bother me cause it doesn't last a long time or anything and I have no issues with most of her guy friends doing this as they aren't slovenly about it, but when he does it, it just rubs me the wrong way...and last night he did it for an extended period of time...since his current gf wasn't there he thinks he can be gropey with mine. Now thankfully I wasn't too drunk, I cleared my throat and gave my gf the subtle eye roll about it and she (thinks he's harmless and just being friendly) got up and came over by me...but I shouldn't have to do that. I shouldn't have to give my gf a signal that it's making me feel uncomfortable, a guy who considers himself MY friend shouldn't do that.

...at a certain point I just want to say to this guy "Look, there's being friendly and there's being lecherous...try to aim for friendly." He gets like that every time though, I don't know why I am surprised, but I'm not going to just sit there and watch him essentially cuddle with my gf. Jealous Scott doesn't come out to play very often, but he still does occasionally, usually when alcohol is involved naturally.

Oh and just to paint a broader picture, this same guy is also the guy who won't leave at the end of the party. It's 3 of 4 AM and he's still lying on the couch half-blitzed and as we are cleaning up and preparing for bed. We usually have to say, "It's time to go, we are going to sleep now." You really shouldn't have to tell anyone that, but it's like clockwork with this guy.

Until QTs post I thought id stumbled into the optometry thread ;)

QT- TBH talk to the guy about it as it clearly bothers you. Even if your not the jealous type address it otherwise itll only take a few pints too many and you may address it whil pissed. In which case itll make you look like a crazy jealous nutter who gets pissed up jealous, especially if the GF just thinks hes been friendly. Itll make you look like the bad guy when really its him whos maybe overstepping some boundaries. Anyway just my opinion as a pissed up jealous dickhead who has made himself look like the bad guy by getting drunkenly jealous. I addressed it when I was pissed and ended up alienating both the GF and a few of my mates. A quiet word with the guy is a better option unless hes the type to use it against you with the GF (depending on how close those two are) by making you out to be really jealous.

Apparently this is now Tiam psychology hour so ill stop there. And if that makes no sense...

Whats messing with my groove? I am hungover as fuck

@BK - you do know we have a backup forum, right? Just go to that if the site is ever down... Linky.

Long story short? Site went down, either due to server resource usage or database errors, we had to wait for Hetan to get it back up and running, she was busy with RL, so it took a while. ;)

Work trips. 36 hours roundtip to do one hour of work. Absolutely bagged after barely sleeping on a tiny cot in a dorm with ice on the inside of the window, followed by a 6.5 hour drive (half in driving snow) to the airport. The nap on the flight out didn't really help, in part thanks to turbulence making it short. Have dinner on now, which is good, because if I had stopped for lunch anywhere I would have missed my flight back.

Can you make it part of the error message, maybe? That way people are sure to notice it!

Possibly for IP.Board malfunctions, but if it's server down I'm not sure how much control I have over the error feedback without messing around with 'serious' code or settings. I'll look into it. ;)

Guys, I'll give you a hint.

In the links list (StevenErikson.com, Forum Gallery, etc.) that was showing. there is also the link to the backup forum .

I knew of the existence of the backup forum, it was also mentioned before the site transferred to this server and I had bookmarked it, but after a fresh install of Windows
my backup of my favorites went AWOL from my backup external hd.

So I was just browsing the list if there were any links which I hadn't visit before and voila, a permanent link to the backup forum

Exams have well and truly arrived and as a result, I won't get to see Lex for another 15 days. And that most likely includes internet messaging and phone calls.

Doesn't seem like much but I'm used to seeing her at least once a week...change is tough! ;)

My groove is so totally messed with atm that I doubt it'll ever get back to normal. Basically, yesterday I found out that my mom has a subdural hematoma (bleeding on the brain) and she is having surgery to drain it. So now I'm getting ready to go back to the hospital, after having spent 12 hours there yesterday, and I'm on hold with them because I don't even have her room number. Sigh.

Shitty. I do hope she will be okay. That is not a nice thing to have to deal with, her or you.

Sending good vibes.

Good luck Maia.
Hope all is well.

Sounds fairly trivial now, but, no Sky+ and no tinternet, means the new walking dead is passing me by.
