In other news....I really think I need to get a job, but I don't know what....not in a fast-food outlet or anything, all my friends say it sucks. I WAS gonna go to Borders, but....well.

Ugh - virus?

Is it me or has there been more all-round death in 2011 (in this thread) than in previous years? :)

No thanks sombra....got no ambitions in that particular field :p

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

That's why you only do it for a year, to get money for Uni. Duh.

This has me down as well. I went to high school with him, as well as all the other people you usually saw with him on Jackass (Bam and his brother Jesse, Brandon DiCamillo and Raab Himself (I know him as Chris). We were more acquaintances than anything else, but we had a number of classes together back then and would joke around while in school, but never really got together outside school. He crashed about a mile from where I live, but I haven't gone by there yet. From what I've heard, though, it's probably just as well-that stretch of road has been thronged with people since yesterday. He was a cool dude.

A sales guy at my office 3-way call attacked me with a customer listening in. Luckily I caught on in time and didn't say anything bad, but he was totally trying to make me say shit to get in trouble...all to avoid getting said customer in trouble with HER customer for approving something I did to a label they were rushing without checking with her customer that it was okay to do...and then having 2 million labels printed.

Sorry dude, I fucking went about the job the proper way and the things I did and I asked if they were okay and was approved to do it...so don't try to throw me under that particular bus just to save your customer grief for messing up. She fucked up not me.

Arg!!

I have all the email correspondence still where I ask if what I did was okay and she says yes and then approves it after I sent her a proof...and when I mentioned that I could send that to HER customer to explain what happened (which said End-customer was asking where the screw up was)...the sales guy here says "Oh no, no. I don't want to do that. It will get her in trouble and she'll get mad at me." Oh grow a pair man, jeezus!

And the End-customer says "Well, in future can you let us know of things like this being changed so this doesn't happen again?"....so basically I have to just suck up the fact that she messed up, and I have the PROOF it wasn't us....but I can't use it cause it would trample our customers feelings. Blerg. I get they WHY of it from a sales POV, but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow.

Firefox crashed, deleting the in-progress Crokus and Apsalar section of my House of Chains summary. That sucked.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I still have no idea why you actually responded to someone asking for a plot summary without giving you anything.

I enjoyed summing up Return so much I've been looking for an excuse to do another. Just not til later tomorrow.

Wait wait wait wait WAIT... You've done a plot summary of RotCG?

DOES THIS MEAN I DON'T HAVE TO FINISH READING IT???

(please say yes so I can go and crow in the happy thread?)

WHY CAN'T I GET ONE OF THESE FOR REAPER'S GALE????????????????????

Welp, looks like I have project number next sorted. And sadly Shiara it is only a partial one of the end of the book, I'll see if I can find it.

Ah, here we are, but it's only summarising the last half of Kyle's plotline, I'm afraid, and the thread it's in is full of endbook Return of the Crimson Guard spoilers so be careful. Looks like you might have to finish the book yourself.

Y'know, for a moment I thought you were Tehol, and I was like: "all you have are sons? Since when?"

and then the coin dropped.

Anyway, you don't "get" a girl. Unless you search the Yellow Pages.
If a girl's interested in you, she'll let you know... subtly or not so subtly. They too are people and thus have confidence issues, wants, needs and ideas, y'know.

Not getting their attention is a pity but the only thing you can do about it is ease up. Focus on having a good time, and when good times are had and you feel awesome and relaxed, go and make some eye contact, smile at a girl looking at you, et cetera. You'll see soon enough whether she's interested. And if it turned out it was accident your eyes met, don't let that affect you.

You don't go to a bar or a dancing or whatnot for sex or picking someone up. You go for fun, and the same goes for girls. Flirting, kissing and going home for steamy stuff can be a part of that, but usually, it isn't.

Wise words, Tapper. The best hot streak I was ever on came when I was having the most fun.

Unfortunately that hot streak screeched to a halt once I became stuck on a woman who didn't really reciprocate.

Fortunately, the woman who I had a conversation with about me being stuck on this other woman stayed patient and persistent and we'll celebrate our two year anniversary next month.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.
