drink related, you would normally have my sympathy. just not today.

knocking off early and joining a $5 tournament was looking like a great idea when we were down to the last 2 tables and I'm sittign 4th playing well.
until the jacks.

those fucking jacks

I went all in on a fucking royal flush gutshot yesterday, with bottom pair.
it was only a cas hgame, but I had a friggin gutshot ROYAL flush on the flop.

got beat by a pair of aces. typical.

Better than all in pre flop with aces, chip leader on bb calling, with jj and knowing you're fucked because jacks always beat you

On 3 separate occasions in the last week and a half (the last 2 today and last Friday morning), a person or persons unknown have stolen $50, $50 and $20 from my wallet while it was in my unable-to-be-locked locker while I was at PT. This morning I even had it inside my backpack at the bottom of the locker but that didn't stop them. Not only am I disappointed at the fact that someone I work with would do that, but it makes me mad enough to want to get medieval on their arse if I catch them, and I do not enjoy feeling that way. I am dead serious, a couple of us are working on a trap and if it works, I will not be held responsible for my actions. There had better be an ambulance nearby for this ****'s sake. ;)

Also, the heat and humidity has turned up EVEN FURTHER in the last few days. If you go outside the air con you are basically in a sweat bath. 4 hours after I get home and crank the air con to full blast and it is still icky as the heat comes out of the concrete walls. Darwin is an ... OK ... town, I just loathe the weather for 7-8 months of the year. Thank gawd I am leaving in just over a month, hopefully never to return. :)

It was 29 degrees today for the first time in months. Unwelcome change.

Also, school athletics tommorow. I don't mind that much, but it goes from 1pm to 5:30pm. That's practically the whole day.

Do they sell Vicks here? I haven't seen any! I have cough lollies and hopefully I can just look after myself enough to keep it mild.

I went home to steal the DVD edition of this quasi-variety comedy show I hosted (and produced, and scripted, and fucking everything) 4 years ago, so I could show my roommates that it wasn't a steamy pile, and for a few laughs. But they cut out my ENTIRE opening bit, almost 3 minutes of footage (and, to be immodest, the only funny shit in the entire show).

But it's a little late to complain.

I got me a job to be able to pay my college fees.. Today I get the message that since I'll be working soon I can't stay insured with our family insurance because I'm not blood-related to my mom's husband and now have to pay my own insurances. In the end this means I can't pay my college fees on my own because so much of my wage will go into paying the insurance stuff that I'll STILL have to ask my mom for money. So much for trying not to be a bother to anyone and wanting to sort my life out on my own.
Alternatively I could work more [being paid by the hour] and miss even more subjects every damn week and still only have enough money to pay the fees but not my train ticket. Excuse me for the emo-ness but sometimes life just sucks.

Aw hell! That's awful. You really can't get a break, can you? ;)
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. ouch
I fell really awkwardly in Indoor today.

I keep gettign these jolts of pain lancing up my left arm whenever I move it suddenly.

it doesn't feel broken, and I don't think it's twisted.

which is why the pain is weirding me out.

also, after coming home from 2 games back to back, I scarfed down dinner. and my stomach's not agreeing with that course of action.

That sounds awful! I know working full-time and studying is doable, but damn hard, and it's usually the Uni that suffers in this combination. Keeping fingers crossed for you - I hope you'll manage to sort this out some way.

The obvious solution here is to live uninsured. That's what I'm doing. That's how I pay the bills.

EDIT: This is the worst plan ever.
