I had a 100% commission sales job, my outgoings far outweighed my income, I was under enough pressure to make sales that it screwed me and my attitude over on the field, and I've felt like and continue to feel like absolute crap since three weeks ago. So I decided rather than do another week of paying out to get nothing back like last week, I'd leave and just fucking relax. My boss has guaranteed me a place whenever I feel like coming back, since I'm one of the people who helped set up his office and he'd rather have me then the other two guys who were borderline fired. One of which was thrown out for being a lazy asshole who no-one liked, and the other was saved by me leaving, though he probably made enough sales to save his ass despite his lack of image or hygiene.

I still plan on going drinking with my friends from work occasionally, though.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

There's some temp work at a Royal Mail date entry centre that I usually went for to work at Christmas - the one that normally stops me going to Manc December meetups - but they've got so many temp workers and so little mail that they've let some go already, so there's that out of the picture.

I've had five months of excellent sales experience, which will look fantastic on the CV. I can sell products, hell, I can sell feelings. I'll find something. However, I'm just going to take things easy for the moment.

Believe it or not, fundraising opens up doors.
I know where you're coming from, because before I went back to school, I did the exact same thing for 8 months. I've seen some really good times and some really shit times in our office. With this kind of experience, though, it's ridiculously easy to get another entry-level type job. even things like call centers--which are essentially the same thing, but pay actual hourly wages, with commission on top.
I talked to a friend of mine a few days ago, who was in the same office in the summer--he keeps getting calls for marketing management positions.
Not to mention the skill set you inevitably develop......

Could a helpful mod please rectify the situation.

I dislike people neg repping other people for being honest about their opinions in the Discussion board. I think it hampers an honest dialogue about any given subject.

So Haroos is a racist who is incapable of seeing things from any other side than the pro-Israeli one. What else is new?

If we can't have a discussion on why something like a racist stereotype is false and ignorant then its hard to rectify said attitude and neg repping people is not constructive,

@Masan - I noticed, don't sweat it, the sentiment was clear enough. He's banned now anyway.

Well, that thread WAS messing with my groove. I got over it though. Nothing like a bit of banning and ranting in the morning to cheer you up! :p

I can see where your coming from Apt, but at the end of the day the post in question was imo utter nonsense.

Voicing one's opinions is one thing, however if that opinion includes massively innacurate, offensive and essentially racist comments then it needs to be pointed out. I could'nt do that because the thread had been closed, hence the neg rep. ( Or in my moment of fail, a pos rep :p)

Oh, and i'm not anti SJP, she did well for me on the weekend, came in at 4 to 1in the 3.30 at Doncaster.

Edit, just read Rodeo and Silencer's posts, oh dear, I fear Malazanempire maybe anti semetic......:p.

Wow! That thread went downhill in a real hurry... :p

As has been shown previously, it would appear we're a broad church... A bit too broad at times...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. messing with my groove right now is the fact that I've become a pathological napper. And it's messing up my sleep patterns something fierce.

while it helps to juggle all the various stuff I've had the (mis?)fortune to get into in school, the inability to fall asleep and resulting growing dependency on caffeine in the mornings is unsettling.

Have class tomorrow from 8:30am straight till 9pm with the last class being a midterm. To top it off i also have a midterm at 830am the following morning as well. Guess that means no sleep for me for the next couple of days.

Messing with my groove: Roommates watching Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia at max volume. I don't mind if you like that show, but it gives me physical pain to watch, and the dialogue itself is nauseating enough to hear through my headphones.

Finally worked up the courage to talk to this girl over FB. The conversation that followed was perfunctory, devoid of any spark and mostly consisted of me filling in the silences. She didn't even respond to my farewell (though I suspect that she was at this point). I hate when I take a chance and this happens.

Goddamn, we tied. we were winning 2:0, but then our line got screwed up, cuz of the 3 people up, no one knew which one was playing mid.

I sat by on the bench, resting, as they scored 2 goals in a 3 on 1 situation, cuz we had one defender back.

and then when we get a 2 on 1 breakaway,, I mess up the pass and the shot goes to the goalie.

god-friggin-damnit, we should've won this game....
