That place Assail has just gone to ... you know the one I have been aiming to go to for the last 3 years and was apparently a "shoe-in" to get on the trip for when my unit next goes? The list came out, and I'm not on it. No reasons either.

Absolutely gutted. :)

EDIT: to add insult to injury, today they promoted me to LCPL (Lance Corporal). Woo-fucking-hoo. :)

I woke up a bit ago, ignoring the army of little wee ones rumbling around downstairs and stalked outside with a cup of coffee. Is it nice out? Yes, glorious for once. Is there a ginormous suburban tank-u-v in my driveway for the weekend? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Its so big and scary :)

It's officially summer. Gods, I hate summer. There's nothing more [well, let's say, very little] I hate more than summer and sun and that 'everything's great and fun'-mood people want to force on one.. Blech.

It's Saturday, and I'm typing this from work. Yes, I've been here since 12:30pm. It's now 6:30pm. I am a DNS admin, and all I am needed for is a single record change. A SINGLE RECORD CHANGE. What a waste of a weekend.

At least I get compensated.

Went for a lovely day out today in the Cwmcarn forest drive, North-East of Cardiff. Was a wonderful time withh good friends and a good BBQ, but there was a tree. It was an ace tree. Very easy to climb, with some low hanging branches to jump off...

Or at least, when you're stood on one it looked low hanging... I jumped off it, and landed on a slightly concealed tree root, and despite it not hurting too much initially, a number of hours later I'm in casualty because I couldn't walk, and I'm being told that I have fractured my navicular (I think...) bone, and I have to be in a cast for 6 weeks. This might mean I cannot continue my training, and therefore start my beat work at the same time as everyone else.

Also my parents have booked their tickets for my passing out ceremony in June... Oh crap...

It would appear that you are incapable of making the necessary evolution from tree dweller to knuckle dragger that today's modern police force requires. :D

Did the tree look like this ?

There's an inch of snow on the ground, and rising.

Did I mention that I'm in California, and that it's late May, and this is the fourth time this month it's snowed a measurable amount?

My old landlord is asserting that I did not pay him the final month's rent. I insist that I did (I fucking sent it, and my money's gone), but he's threatening to keep my security deposit. Bastard.

Please tell me you don't pay your rent with cash like it's 1920. Tell me you paid with a check like a civilized person who knows not to send cash through the mail, especially when it is a payment for something where you might need to later prove you made the payment in case of dispute. Tell me that because you did these things, your bank or you has the check documented. If you can't tell me that, tell me you at least paid with a money order, which can still be documented. Just don't tell me you paid cash to your landlord without a receipt.

Yes. I paid by check, which is well documented and paper-traileriffic. Also, if you go to the bank around here and get out THAT much cash on a regular basis, you'd start getting some questions...

Yes. However, my the guy is older than piss. Like Kallor's daddy old. So I don't think he understands electronic banking...

Getting absolutely slaughtered in my Supercoach (fantasy AFL) league this week. An injury in the first minute of a game and a ton of players spudding it up. Probably lost top shot now. :)

Hamstrings are tight. Not the 'oww this is sore' tight, but the 'jesus christ why can't I walk' tight. The 'I should see a goddamned doctor' tight.

My favourite TV show is on now, but I'm too tired to appreciate it properly.

I had a lot to drink last night at the BBQs. I remember everything all the way up to getting my laptop open and then it goes blank until I snap awake this morning with a hangover that's hovering on the edge of incapacitating me.

And I see I wrote some stuff here that didn't make much sense. Sorry y'all. I'm going to just lay in bed for a while sipping water and hoping the hangover lifts sometime today.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.
