I couldn't make it to my Lawn Bowls match today, and my coach is hopping mad. He's gonna kill me

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Someone has already died at the Olympics. A luger from Georgia crashed and hit his head off a steel pole. Apparently it's the fastest luge track in the world and there have been concerns about this happening. Gods I hope this is a fluke. :(

Loooks like there might be a design flaw in the track that led to that fuy getting killed. I guess it's the hardest track in the world, and that corner has to be hit perfectly or you eat shit. They're going to have to figure out how to keep people in the track if they crash there and not fly out and hit something like he did.

The track is closed for the investigation, racing is scheduled to start tomorrow. It's possible there won't be a luge competition.

UPDATE - 2/13@12:26AM: Well, obviously no Rush tonight. Notice how the show was themed around the different provinces of Canada moving from east to west? Also notice how Ontario and the Great Lakes region were skipped over? What I'm now hearing is that this portion of the show was scrubbed due to nature of today's tragic events. Apparently it had a full rock and roll metropolitan vibe to it and was cut for sensitivity. The word is now that Rush may tentatively play at the closing ceremony. Sorry everybody - I'm as pissed off as you are.UPDATE - 2/12@6:57PM: BBC America showed Alex and Geddy at BC Place not long ago and said We have been informed Rush are to perform sometime tonight with their 70s classic hit Closer To The Heart (thanks Sean). Not sure if that means they aren't going to play YYZ or if they'll play both songs.

UPDATE - 2/12@11:52AM: I also just learned that they may be playing

Yeah I read about that guy, it truly sucks

On a not so serious note I was woken up ridiculously early by some people who were staying over last night who had to get up to go off for the day, yet they decided to hang around outside my room and chat before leaving...

The fact that I'm typing this right now. Jeeze. It's way to fucking late to be doing that.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I'm freaking out over this stupid promotion course. They say 'any numptie' can pass it, but I'm not your common-or-garden-variety numptie. I'm a completely new order of numptie.

Lemme see. It's 4 o clock, I'm relatively sober, I spent 35 fucking euros on a cab ride that would have cost me €2.40 and 10 minutes walking if I went by train, I started smoking again, drove an old ladyfriend to tears, I have serious family issues and the third girl I really fell in love with in ten years time fails to acknowledge my fucking presence despite dating me a couple of times and it being valentine's day. Her ladyfriend, who is a blonde bombshell that I'm not interested in, was a whole lot nicer to me than she herself was, despite this being the second time I met said blonde, and having exchanged only ten words before.

I dare say my life fucking sucks at this time and I have no clue how to make it better. I swear, i'm going to burn all my bridges behind me somewhere between now and a year's time.

I have the best job in the world. People actually give me money to go to Liverpool and talk football with random strangers. But now it like irony will hit me hard (again), and I'll end up doing the best job in the world while Liverpool's playing at Anfield. Read, I'll be in fucking Liverpool and not attending the match. I never thought the situation would arise....

Received an...interesting text from my gf this morning. Went along the lines of 'omg last night was so romantic! I can't believe how great it was!' etc. Now, unless my dick grew around 1500 km last night and I engaged in Tantric sex two states away in my sleep, I'm going to assume this message loosely translates to 'you fucked my whorish, cheating ass so good last night', and I (her boyfriend) am not its intended recipient, as what other conclusions can I draw? Bit of a dark fucking cloud on the rest of my holiday, to be honest. Yet to hear a response to my extremely confused reply, but really, what more can be said?

I can do naught but applaud karma's sense of humour though, and I'm laughing as I imagine the look on her face as she realises what's happened. Haha serves her right, I guess.

A large part of me is wondering how long this has been going on, considering it's one thing to fuck somebody behind your partner's back, quite another entirely to celebrate a Valentine's Day with that person. You think you know someone...sigh. I might not have been the greatest boyfriend, but still, I don't think I deserved this. And I sent her flowers! Bah. That card I got saying 'missing you heaps' seems dreadfully insincere at this point.

Ouch. Hang in there MTS, try and keep your cool and wait to hear what she has to say.
Though be clear that the text is insanely condemning. Ask questions of other people who know her, keep the message as proof. You might want to start asking now, to try in case, to make sure no story can be pieced together by friends to protect her.
If her story doesn't hold and you're investigations turn up disturbing things then you get mad.

Heh, every person I've managed to contact is either oblivious or lying to me, and half of her friends aren't even responding. Ain't lookin' good at this point...

I see...
Yeah that's looking bad.
The only thing left is to either call her or wait till she calls.
What ever happens I hope you get the better end of the deal in the long run.

I have called. Three times. She's either dead or not answering, since she is cybernetically fused to that phone of hers. It's actually pretty pathetic, really.

So then, it's the waiting game.
Stay frosty, don't give her any ammo by getting mad.

I'm mad that she isn't even giving me the courtesy of a response. Instead she's ignoring me. Real dick move. I'd be significantly less angry if she just owned up to it and gave me an explanation.

I can wait, but it will only get worse the longer she puts it off.
