Cancelled mu flight. Oh well, there is always next year. Just going to make this Christmas one to remember.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

5.8% increase in my rent, because of inflation---and simultaneous halving of the amount of my monthly electricity bill they'll pay (which already wasn't enough to keep my apartment at the minimum 60 degrees the lease requires), because---fuck me. No early signing bonus as in previous years, but instead they promise to bombard me with emails and erroneous notices that I might have people come to view my apartment even after I sign my lease if I don't have it in by tomorrow.
Don't want people coming in during the pandemic (including movers) and there's lots of stuff in here I'd rather not go without (or leave unattended with staff and people coming in and out) so I'll sign it, but I'm not happy about it. And it reminds me of my dead cat. (Of course I still have to pay the pet fee for the remainder of the current lease, even though she died many months ago.)

Glad you’re okay. I know that Amazon warehouse was in southern IL too.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Why were those workers not done with their assignment? Typical lazy workers getting themselves killed with their criminal negligence.

Hopefully this will help motivate Amazon to improve their robots. Their automation in general is subpar. (Perhaps they've been too insistent on developing it in-house, drastically lagging behind.) Then again they might think deaths are less expensive than demolished robots....
Robots vs tornadoes... hmm.

Oh man, so sorry. I just read your previous post and was thinking "dude, stick the LFT or PCR swab in your ear and be done with it". We've just spent the weekend in London. If I don't have Omicron now after packed tubes and Hamley's I am invincible.

Holy crap the wind! And today is garbage pickup day in my neighborhood. I pay attention to the weather forecast, because, I don't know, it's a common sense thing to do, so I didn't push my bin out on the curb (I can wait a week). Not my neighbors; overturned garbage bins and trash doing the old west ghost town tumbleweed dance up the streets. Dumbasses. This is only the opening act too. The wind is supposed to peak by mid-day. There is probably going to be a lot of damage after this blows through. I would not want to be semi-truck on the interstate. I sure hope this misses the folks who are picking up after the tornadoes last week.

I just signed a lease agreement
to lease my land
from myself
for £0 per annum
I am the tenant, I am the landlord.
how fucking ridiculous does a system have to get before they admit its a money spinning bullshit exercise?

Be careful what you type. Before you know it you might get kicked out for being obstinate. I have it on good authority that your landlord reads these boards as well.

Why are Christmas party hangovers worse than any other type of hangovers? ugh. Is it because of the rich foods and nog? I have two more of these to go to this joyous season. I think I'm going to throttle it down though and just sip some wine. I'm done with extra strong Colorado Bulldogs for the year.

It genuinely is.
Saw some mates for drinks recently, one had his xmas do the night before, hungover as fuck due to shame, thought he'd done something bad and made a tit of himself. Turned out he'd just vanished, soon as the shame was gone he perked right up and the worst bits of the hangover washed away.
