My groove is also being messed by train related issues, though by far not as bad. Picture this: the train I take to work managed not only to be late today (that's standard), but then proceeded to just stand there for a solid half an hour for no good (explained) reasons. Then it was like normal for two stops before the announcement came that it's not going any further today. Fine. Naturally, ALL the passangers at once decided to run for the only other train that goes straight to the same city, which was already standing there about to depart... Stupid as I am (I COULD'VE taken a bit of a roundabout trip and, in hindsight, gotten to work only about 15 minutes later, seeing as I was already going to be an hour late), I decided to run for it, got myself winded in the cold October morning air (yay asthma), then had to stand for 40 minutes sandwiched like a sardine between all the dickheads who can't think far enough to put their backpacks on the floor. Had trouble breathing for all that time, got weird lookd for rying to do breathing exercises, and couldn't get to my asthma spray because I DID actually put my backback on the floor between my feet. Assholes. People also seem to magically turn stupid when on packed trains here because EVERYONE wants to stand by the door, even if they're going to the last stop of the line anyway.

AFTER work, my bus was late, so I missed my train, and behold, the next TWO trains were cancelled because of "persons on the rail tracks", which usually is code for "someone jumped in front of the train". I don't know why the main train station is such a popular spot for that.

I'm still short of breath and coughing from my morning adventure. Sigh.

Also, our heating doesn't work. And my mom is shit at the simplest paperwork and I'm sick of managing it for her. While making dinner while mom sits around reading. Come on, at least cut the damn salad.

...yeah, I've not been getting much sleep these past days.

I can relate to literally everything that both Puck and LB said - delayed trains, people jumping on the tracks, running for trains, ultra crowded trains, moronic commuters... ugh commutes suck all the joy out of life.

My colleague is an absolute Bitch. I honestly cant understand her.

She was demonstrating a technique today that I wanted to learn. I asked if I could observe. She sent me an email at 9:32 to tell me to come observe, I decided to go early because I didn't want to keep her waiting and I now from past experience if I am one second late (even if its because she didn't bother to tell me when she wants to start) she will just start without me. I got into the room at 9:37 and she was midway through the demonstration and by 9:38 the demonstration was over. She didn't even acknowledge I had entered the room.

Does she not like me? Is it a weird power play? I have no idea. She is supposed to be my supervisor but never has any interest in training me, discussing my ideas or helping me troubleshoot techniques which are new to me but not to her.

Unfortunately the actual issue is that IPS discontinued the chat module. The "turned the servers off, it's gone forever" kind of discontinued. So even if we wanted it back, we can't.

We would need a third party solution and for all three people who ever actually used the chat with any frequency....yeah, not likely to happen, sadly.

So I finally have my review scheduled at work, for this coming Wednesday, with (hopefully) a discussion about salary increase. I mentioned a little while ago on here that I recently took on nearly double my workload, as the accounting clerk was moved to reception and I got his entire workload added to mine.
So now I need to figure out how much I should ask for. In an ideal world since I took over my coworkers job I should get the amount of his salary added to mine, obviously that's not going to happen.
The company's also really struggling right now so I don't wanna look like a huge prick by asking for too much, granted a did take a pay cut last year (while the partners kept on spending lots on meals and drinks).
I think I have a lot of ammunition for a good raise but I don't know how much I'll be able to get.
A little stressed trying to figure this all out.
