Basically doing the job for experience then having another interview. I'm pretty young in service, comparatively, so they wanted people who has a bit more experience behind them. That they've asked me to do this is a good sign - I'll be working on attachment for about three months & getting some extra training. So it's just a longer way around doing the same thing...

Do you have a rabbi?

I'm asking you a serious question.

You've been injected with spider eggs.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Last day of our holiday Cyprus. Woke up to the joy of a vomiting child. Flight home tomorrow could get messy....

I'm sat watching Asterix in Greek while he slumbers.

"Accidentally" adjust the seat bookings so you are 3 rows in front.

Yeah but "Tea Monkey" would probably be more accurate.

Umm... No? Not sure where that came from unless it's a reference I don't get...

Didn't pass my interview :( oh well, they have offered me what they're calling a development pathway which will give me lots of relevant experience so it's not bad at all but at the same time I was really hoping for this one.

Life goes on :)

You are young and new to the job relatively speaking. How old is the average detective. It sounds to me like you impressed them but its just too soon for you. Seems a very good sign.

A rabbi is a mentor to a younger police officer. I believe the slang is used in the NYPD. perhaps all American police use it. Ideally you want to be the nephew of the chief of police. That way if you accidentally shoot an unarmed suspect he can make it all go away. Tiste if you want to make it as a cop you need to watch more cop shows. Get a black partner. Love him despite the racial tension. Always put your life on the line but at the same time act like your too old for this shit. Get a pair of sunglasses, make one liners at murder scenes and then put the new pair of sunglasses over the sunglasses your already wearing and then stare directly at the closest camera relative of the deceased.

You should model your career on Hot Fuzz.

I'm definitely more like the fat stupid one on Hot Fuzz than say Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon...

Throat and the back of my neck hurt something fierce. Woke up 2 days ago and noticed a thumb sized yellow bruise right beside my adams apple like I had someone strangling me. Weird I thought as no one has and I hadn't hit myself. Last night I woke up from a deep sleep from the sheer pain in the back of my neck and front of my throat and now all day I have been soar and extremely uncomfortable.

So lazy, ineffective, and uncomfortably obsessed with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, as opposed to vaguely suicidal and prone to binge drinking and meaningless sex with people who are killed within 24hrs of banging you?

Jokes aside, it would be a good idea to try and get a mentor type deal with a detective or someone else whose career path you'd like to emulate.

We know mortician isn't your ideal career path at this point.

More or less, yeah!

Amph yeah I think they do that in this development plan. 🙂

So some strange women made contact with me on Instagram. Sending me hearts. Calling me her love. I just ignored her. Then I noticed she had friendes like 30 people with my name and surname. So I figured maybe she is legitimately looking for someone she used to know. Though she should be able to tell from the picture? So I messaged her back and say sorry I'm the wrong Gary. She replies who is Gary.

What am I dealing with?

My baby girl is at her 1st Homecoming dance right now...

I've seen those documentaries. You need to put on your best checked shirt and trucker hat, grab the shotgun, jump in the pickup and get to that basketball auditorium now! BEFORE they play the slow last dance.

Unless you're keen on being called "Grandpa" ... ?

:(

Maybe show up and sit between her and her date as Ghostface from Scream?

Had to call security on neighbor this morning. It was like 2 am. Thank God when I heard this wierd noise I actually paused my TV to try hear what was going on. Some girl was crying and i heard a man shouting for her to get up. Must have been in the street. The. He started to threaten to kill her. When security showed up he started threatening her infront of the security to tell them he didn't hurt her.

Sadly security can intervene and they got her home. Nothing more will come of it. I had to call security though because the cops would have taken 3 days of ever to arrive.

A double post!

So some nutjob in my country raped a six year old in a restuarants bathroom. Its sickening and shocking and all the rest but sadly is not that uncommon here. Its however also become a race issue. The guy was caught red handed. We know who he is. Its an open secret but the newspapers wont publish his name. Its became a racial issue in that people are saying the newspapers are protecting him because he is white. Its illegal to publish an accused name however until he enters his his plea in court. This has always been the law and has always been followed. Telling people this does not change their mind. we truly live in a world where truth and fact count for nothing and people love to be angry.

Daughter has Hand, Foot, Mouth...gotten from Daycare (Read: petrie dish of illnesses) because some parent decided to send their ill child to daycare and infect others...so she's at home with my wife who is two weeks shy of her due date for baby #2.

Fucking hell, what perfectly shitty timing.

The good news is that (according to the doctor; who we saw last night) there is very minimal threat to the baby if my wife gets it now before he's born...but the trade off is that it's much more dangerous to him once he's born if my daughter still has it because of his ill-prepared immune system.

If that happens, ideally we'd want her and baby to go to her parents place to stay till daughter is better...but her mother is terminally ill and has a severely compromised immune system...so we can't do that. Hopefully my sister would take them in.

Nightmare.
