Had a great night. Called it quits at 4 am as did the last group of others awake. Woke up with a start for some reason at stupid o'clock and see my one friend outside pacing with headphones on and talking to himself. Looked at my phone, 7:25. I get out of bed and get myself or there to talk with him and be with him.

He's a friend and it's worth it. But it is stupid o'clock.

He's fine, we had a great sprawling conversation that went all manner of places. Still cooling down and relaxing.

I find it works better if you add some chopped veggies and a little soy sauce.

Sooooooooo angry. So I have been texting my ex for 2 days letting her know I am dropping by with the boys at her work. She just replies, 3 hours before, saying she has to get a shower and change and can't take the boys (why this is a problem is beyond me). She tells me to drop them at daycare (which my poor eldest says he does not wish to go to...) and she will get them at 3:30. I mean, I have someone I am meeting in her neck of town around 3 pm, so this is just stupid, and I will not be late for my meeting on her account.

She is soooooo fucking inconsiderate. I have told her I am not paying for the daycare, since this outside the scope of the divorce agreement where either she picks them up at 3:30 from me or I drop them off with her at 2:30 (and since really I have already accommodated her request for 4 pm pick ups and her continual lateness).

Ugh, do I really have to deal with this woman for the rest of my life?!

Yes. Yes you do.

She accuses me of not being flexible. After her always being late and me accommodating her. And she also treats me dropping the boys off with her at work as a favor on her part (means she does not have to drive across town to pick them up)?! Jesus, what a self-centered bitch.

Have you tried framing her for murder? Drop one of her necklaces in a body next time you're at work, then when you have a witness handy, pull it out like "Buddy, I think I found something!"

While this is a pretty terrible thing for someone who meant a whole lot to you before to do and do again, try to remember that it can be pretty rotten to be a kid in the midst of all this. Very little of this is something they have control or volition over.

Keep them in mind as you get through this. Hope you all do that.

Basically spent the entire weekend cleaning and furniture moving - I think I pulled some muscles and my dust allergy is back.

Sigh

I think I figured out how to drink 15+ Miller Lites and Bud Lights a day with zero hangover in Cape Cod. It's been two years now where I have had this weeklong stretch and it's a delight when the outdoor games get going.

What's messing with my groove is that my surprisingly well tuned body over the last few months of cleaner eating and better exercise got put through the deep sea fishing/beach going/feast eating/games playing/sand running wringer. Went all out. Left nothing in the tank.

Basically, I'm a soon to be fat achy piece of crud in the office and I'm 1000% looking forwards to that. I want my regular life back. I want to put my body back together. Sea salt in all my orifices isn't that fun.

Gene Wilder died. Everyone knows he was a legend, so I suppose there's no need to make a case for that here. I will say Blazing Saddles is maybe the funniest movie ever made, but even if it's not, then Young Frankenstein is like the very next in line to take up the mantle, so what does that tell you?

Damn right about Blazing Saddles.

The man was a genius. I loved him as Willy Wonka as well (I don't really admit that the Johnny Depp version exists).
