I'm struggling to figure out what I want to do after uni, and it feels like the longer I take to decide the more options are closing off to me. It feels like such a major decision that could shape my future in vastly different ways, but I can't figure out how to really approach it in a meaningful fashion so it feels like I'm going to end up choosing almost arbitrarily.
I know in the long run it's probably not actually like that, and that it's a common situation for people to find themselves in. But telling myself that isn't really helping much. Blahhhh.
It's totally normal to be confused/ lost about career choices. 2 things I can suggest.
1) make a list of things you absolutely refuse to do. It may seem counterproductive, but while you're thinking of those, you will start to realize what it is you want to do.
2) try stuff. If your parents aren't kicking you out to survive on your own, look for any companies/firms/institutions doing things you're interested in, and show up there with your resume declaring you're willing to work even unpaid to get a taste of what their work is like.
In many cases, paid jobs are almost nothing like the stuff they teach in uni, so practical hands on experience is awesome asset no matter how you get it. Also, this allows you to start networking/building connections, etc.

And I want to state that Ment has out-weaseled me by far in this game.
